The big news of the week comes out of Pittsburgh where the Penguins made a coaching change, made a trade with Chicago, and now have watched their star goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury go out with a concussion. What is going on with the Penguins? Why is the team who many picked as a contender struggling to make the playoffs? What can new defence Trevor Daley, new coach Mike Sullivan, and others do to help turn things around.
We then look at Steven Stamkos and his situation in Tampa. Does he sign a new deal, will he leave via trade or will he leave as a free agent on July 1st? Where does he go, and what kind of deal will he get?
We also look at Ryan Johansen. Benched for the second time this season, is he on the trade block? What can the Blue Jackets expect in return.
The boys move on to preview the World Junior Hockey Championships. How are Canada and the US Team looking for this year’s tournament? What about the usual suspects like the Russians, Swedes, Czechs, and Finns? Can Slovakia, Switzerland, or Denmark pull an upset this year?
They also look at the Leafs 100th year rebrand and what it might mean for the franchise going forward.
Lastly the Boys look at Calgary and Edmonton’s recent win streaks and how these put the teams back in the playoff picture.
