After the Anthem Episode 6: TFC Keeper Cleanout, Will Johnson Future, and CanMNT

After a long layoff, After the Anthem is back on the airwaves. The one-stop podcast for all things Canadian soccer returns with co-hosts Mitchell Tierney of Waking the Red and Michael Norton of Last Word on Sports. Arslan Siddiqui, also of Last Word on Sports, was off this week.

For this episode, Tier and Nort discuss the playoff defeats suffered by the Vancouver Whitecaps and the Montreal Impact. The episode also gets into recent roster moves made in Vancouver and Toronto, and whether each side chose correctly in whose contract options they picked up.

The pair talk about the Canadian Men’s National Team’s chances of advancing to the Hexagonal following their first two matches in Round 4 of World Cup qualifying, and also talk about upcoming fixtures for some of Canada’s other national teams. And with MLS Cup on Sunday, Tierney and Norton make their picks and talk about Canadian and Portland Timbers forgotten man Will Johnson’s future.
