Deshaun Watson Shines in Clemson Win

Deshaun Watson did it all again as Clemson raced past North Carolina State in the second half to stay unbeaten, 56-41. Watson hit on 23 of 30 passes and accounted for 437 total yards and 6 TD as the Tigers improved to 7-0 and 4-0 in the ACC.

MarkRogersTV highlights the poise, the presence and the measureables that make Watson one of the nation’s best. Mark also runs down the complementary pieces to Watson on the Clemson offense. In the absence of #1 target Mike Williams, Charone Peake (3 receptions, 64 yards, TD), Hunter Renfroe (4 receptions, 93 yards, TD) and Deon Cain (3 receptions, 59 yards, TD) are all picking up some slack opposite new #1 receiver Artavis Scott. Watson and company hit on a few quick strikes with the offense in hurry up mode to close out the first half and keep that momentum with an opening third quarter scoring drive to erase a 20-19 deficit.

Wayne Gallman balances out the aerial assault on a weekly basis and stepped his game into an even higher gear in Raleigh with 172 yards on 31 carries.

Clemson’s recent reputation for shutdown defense took a hit courteous Jacoby Brissett and Matt Dayes. But the Tigers stiffened in the third quarter in the midst of a 28-7 run to take control.

Clemson returns home next week for the annual Atlantic Division decider vs Florida State. Mark reviews the Tigers’ resume, highlighted by the Notre Dame win, heading into the FSU showdown.
