OTPP: Patrick Kane Trade? Voynov Deported? and More News of the Week

Last Word on Sports is proud to present their hockey podcast, On the Powerplay with Ben and Dave. Join Ben Kerr and Dave Gove each week as they take a look around the Hockey World focusing on the big issues of the NHL and elsewhere.

Dave and Ben are back with the news of the week.

According to reports out of Chicago, five teams enquired about a possible Patrick Kane Trade following the breaking news of his investigation.  What were these general managers thinking.  Is a great player worth the bad public relations he could bring.  Can Kane’s cap hit be managed.  What can Chicago expect in return?  Would they trade him?  Will the NHL suspend Kane or is he free to play?  How do the boys feel about Jonathan Toews comments “supporting a teammate.” These questions are explored.

The boys also look at the latest in the Slava Voynov situation.  Released from prison, but back in custody, this time but US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  Will the Los Angeles Kings defenceman be deported following the assault on his wife.

There is a look ahead to the start of NHL training camps, now just two weeks away.  What is the biggest story to follow heading into the new season?  Let us know your opinion in the comments section below.
