Rolando Aarons Could Be Set For An Important Season

It has already been firmly established that Newcastle’s campaign last season was bitterly disappointing. And I really do not think we need to go back into it in anymore detail. Nevertheless, there were a small number of promising things that emerged last season that added a small light to a very big shadow. That was the revelation of Rolando Aarons. He was managing to establish himself in the first team squad at the start of last season and he provided the team with a new glimpse of life and energy the team desperately craved.

Rolando Aarons Could Be Set For An Important Season

However, Aarons’ season was blighted by a hamstring injury that has hindered his progression significantly and therefore only managed four appearances in his first season. Nonetheless, in those four appearances, he was certainly one of the star performers, consistently weaving in and out of players, creating chances and showing football intelligence way beyond his years before, unfortunately, his season was over.

Therefore,  the 2015/16, barring another injury ravaged season, will hopefully be when Rolando Aarons can leave a lasting impression on the Premier League. And as the Newcastle United squad have all returned back to the Benton base and started work for the forthcoming season, Aarons could become a key member in any work that is being made. And yes, it does look like he will be featuring in Newcastle’s plan after there were rumours circulating during the latter stages of the season, about his future and whether or not he was going to sign a new contract at St James’ Park.

That now seems to be resolved and it looks like he will be playing his football at Newcastle next season, which will be a massive boost to The Toon. Especially considering there are no new faces at the Benton training ground. Therefore, next season could well be a very important year for the Jamaican born winger, who has opted to play his international football with England, and really could prove to be a vital player not only next season, but for many seasons to come.

He received an England call-up in November last season but had to withdraw due to that hamstring injury previously mentioned. Even still, such a fast-track up to the England squad emphasises the impact he made as he shot onto the first team scene. A small, agile player with explosive pace to combine with his trickery as well as the undoubted commitment he possesses to only better himself.  At only 19, he still has a long and promising future ahead of him but next year, if he can cement a place in the Newcastle starting 11, he will be able to really kick-start his career. To assure he is ready for the new campaign and prove his fitness, he has been putting extra hours in at the training ground to show the new manager, McClaren, that he is raring to go. Of course, he and the rest of the Newcastle United players all need to be raring to go with the difficult start they have to their season and so the more points they can pick up in the first few games, could prove to be highly valuable as the season plays out.
