Derek Stepan, Braden Holtby & 21 Restricted Free Agents to Hit Arbitration

There really isn’t much to read into the new Nazem Kadri contract. A one-year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs, a $4.1 million price tag and a new head coach in Mike Babcock to impress. It will now depend on how Kadri shows up next season and what he can do under a new system that has worked well in the past with young players in Detroit, over the last few seasons.
He is one of many restricted free agents that have since been taken off the table. A total of 23 players will elect to go to arbitration, with the process running from July 20th to August 4th. Teams will have until 5pm EST this evening to decide whether they will sign their restricted free agents.  Here is the list of players, along with the cap hit on their last contract.
