Eric Hosmer has had an up and down career coming into 2015. Though it’s only six weeks in, it really seems like he’s figured it out.

Welcome to the Last Word On Sports Waiver Wire Report. Each week you’ll find the players that are worth keeping an eye on or that are ready to pick up. Making movements in your Fantasy Roster are vital to preserve your team in the Playoff race. We’ll suggest players of various positions that possess fantasy value for the rest of the season or while they are riding on a hot-streak.

Eric Hosmer has had an up and down career coming into 2015. Though it’s only six weeks in, it really seems like he’s figured it out. He just saw a 12-game hitting streak come to an end against the New York Yankees. During that streak, he collected 18 hits, and belted four home runs. Overall, Hosmer is hitting .333/.410/.574 with 7 home runs.

In the month of May, Hosmer is batting .368 with four home runs and fourteen RBIs. Eric Hosmer has transformed himself right before our very eyes. If he keeps this up, he could be in the running for American League MVP.

Hosmer is owned by 95% of Yahoo! Fantasy. He’s currently ranked 6th in hits, 7th in RBIs, and 24th in home runs. His teammate, Mike Moustakas, is slightly below Hosmer in almost every category, and is on 82% of all fantasy baseball teams.

If you’re that other 5%, and you are looking for a quick boost, Eric Hosmer should be able to help you out in the short term. There’s no guarantee as to how he will continue to produce, but right now, he’s on fire. He’s expected to finish with an average below .300, so if you want Eric Hosmer or Mike Moustakas  on your fantasy team, and you do, you had better snatch them up right now.
