New York City FC Place Defender Andres Mendoza on Waivers

Ecuadorian defender Andres Mendoza, who had signed with New York City FC in January, was put on waivers by the club on Tuesday.

Defender Andres Mendoza is the first casualty of New York City FC’s slow start to their first season in Major League Soccer. The club has decided to part ways with the 25-year-old Ecuadorian Defender, placing him on waivers. Mendoza has not featured in a match for the expansion club.

NYC FC is in eighth place in the MLS Eastern Conference with a 1-6-3 mark so far this year. They dropped a 2-1 decision to the Hudson River rivals, New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena on Sunday.

New York City FC Place Defender Andres Mendoza on Waivers

New York – New York City FC have placed Ecuadorian Defender, Andres Mendoza on waivers. The 6’2″, 25-year-old defender, signed with the club in January, after playing professionally in Ecuador and recently in Uruguay with CD Maldonado.

New York City FC play their next match this Friday, May 15th, 7:00 p.m. at Yankee Stadium against the Chicago Fire.
