Match Day Preview 5: Saint Louis FC at OKC

After two disappointing results at home with a 1-1 draw against Pittsburgh and a loss to undefeated Rochester, Saint Louis FC hits the road for a match with OKC Energy. STL FC has had success in the past, winning their last road game.

Match Up: Oklahoma City Energy FC (2-0-1, 7 Pts.) vs. Saint Louis FC (1-2-1, 4 Pts.)

Date: Saturday, April 25 7:00 PM CST

Venue: Taft Stadium; Oklahoma City, OK

LAST TIME OUT: Saint Louis FC suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Rochester Rhinos at World Wide Technology Soccer Park last Saturday. The game was scoreless until the 78th minute, when Colin Rolfe scored on a breakaway to give the visitors the win. STL FC will be looking to snap a two-game winless streak on Saturday.

THE OPPONENT: OKC Energy FC enters Saturday’s match undefeated through three matches. The club won its home opener in front of 6,797 fans at Taft Stadium last weekend, scoring a late goal to secure a 2-1 victory over Seattle Sounders 2. This is the Energy’s second season in USL.

THE SERIES: This weekend’s match will be the only regular season meeting between STL FC and OKC Energy FC this season.

“D” IS KEY: Saint Louis and Oklahoma City are currently tied for fifth in USL with a 1.00 goals against average. STL FC has allowed just four goals through its first four matches, while OKC has only conceded on three occasions.

BYE WEEK AWAITS: STL FC will be away from competition next weekend as the club enters its bye week. After that, Saint Louis FC begins a four-game homestand that includes three league matches and one US Open Cup match at World Wide Technology Soccer Park. For tickets, click here.
