MLS Pick ‘Em 2015: Week 6 – LA Galaxy v. Seattle Sounders FC

MLS Pick ‘Em 2015: Week  6 –  LA Galaxy v. Seattle Sounders FC

Last week, a win by DC United ran counter to all but one of our experts, Alec Rivera. As a result, just three of the experts have yet to get on the board, but that could all change this week. Let’s take a look at the standings:

Player Points Correct Outcome Correct Score
Russ McKenzie 4 2 1
Ned Joyce 4 2 1
Eric Walcott 3 3 0
Jeff Krause 3 3 0
Joseph Goldstein 1 1 0
Alec Rivera 0 0 0
John Richan 0 0 0
Michael Norton 0 0 0

The last time Los Angeles Galaxy and Seattle Sounders met, passage to the MLS Cup was on the line. While the stakes are much lower this early in the season, the Sounders and the Galaxy both have players that are exciting to watch. This one might be more about who isn’t on the field; the Galaxy lost two big players in the offseason in Landon Donovan and Marcelo Sarvas, and have yet to really find their replacements. The Sounders will be without the suspended Gonzalo Pineda, taking some bite and possession out of the midfield. Let’s see what our experts have to say.

seattle logo SEA (2-1)  LA just doesn’t look right yet this year, especially in the midfield. Seattle has all the tools they need to make this one comfortable, but they will get caught at least once making a defensive error.

Draw (2-2) Seattle defense has been shaky and neither team has consistently impressed me. There will be more personality fireworks than soccer related.

seattle logo SEA (4-2)  LA can’t seem to feed their forwards of late, but Keane and Zardes each score against an inconsistent Sounders defense. Martins and Dempsey will return to form and dazzle the crowd a C-link. Seattle will outplay the Galaxy and take home 3 points.

LAG(2-1) Seattle will be dangerous, but Robbie Keane and Gyassi Zardes will have their way with Seattle’s back line as LA gets back on track in their quest for Western Conference dominance.

seattle logo SEA (2-1) Sounders seem all about exorcising the demons of their past. I feel the this match is going to further prove Seattle is all in to win it all.

Draw (1-1)  There has to be a draw sometime right? Both these teams are among the best in the MLS. However both teams are still trying to work out some early season kinks. Niether team will want to lose this one and although both teams have a lot of fire power up front they will want to play it safe this weekend and grab the point.

LAG (2-1)  The two best teams in MLS by a country mile in 2014 renew their epic rivalry. Seattle can pick any team apart with their frontline, but LA are deeper defensively and have had Seattle’s number in recent years. Goal Pick: Gyasi Zardes

seattle logo SEA (3-2) Seattle is firing on all cylinders and while la will compete, seattle has too much firepower. Boom.
