FANTASY PROFILE: BRAD MILLER, SS, SEATTLE MARINERS

LWOS Ranking: 20, Captain’s Value: -$2.95

Brad Miller was good in 2013, hitting .265 with 8 HR and 5 SB in only 76 games. This production made him one of the top fantasy sleepers for the 2014 season. However, Miller struggled mightily in 2014, having virtually the same production he did in his rookie season but with 47 more games played. Miller couldn’t hit lefties (or righties) last season and only managed a .221 AVG. He showed somewhat of a turnaround from August through the end of the season, hitting .301 with a combined 2 HR and 1 SB. This wasn’t enough to salvage a horrible season, but provided a glimmer of hope for the 2015 season.

Miller is a player to watch in Spring Training. If he wins the starting SS job, he is worth stashing on your bench in deep leagues or AL only leagues. If not, just leave him on the waiver wire until he proves he can hit consistently.
