Sports. Honestly. Since 2011

There is No Crying in Baseball or Fantasy Baseball!

There is No Crying in Fantasy Baseball! The time has come for another year of fantasy baseball, where the last six months of research pays off.

The time has come for another year of Fantasy Baseball where the last six months of research pays off for you and me. Why would you listen to me? That is what I was told I have to answer, well that’s easy, I win.

I am not a cocky man but this game (or lifestyle) called fantasy sports is what I do. I crunch the numbers year round. I do all the possibilities with many different equations that we don’t need to go into. I am not saying I always win but in the dozen leagues I am in, I win half of them year in and year out. I put my record up against anyone out there and confident it will compete at least.

There is No Crying in Baseball or Fantasy Baseball!

I am not saying I am right all the time, that is impossible. There will always be freak plays and streaks, especially when 162 games are played by every team. So do not freak out, just stay the course and the cream will rise. Players will always go towards the mean of their skill set, not anyone else. Go by five year averages, these will be your safest bet and remember when in doubt go by the average.

Do not take my word for it, read everything you can from everyone you can and then make your mind up for yourself. It is at the end of the day your team so make it what you believe will be the winning team. Having fun is great but we all want to win as well.

Here is my pre-spring league top 100:
1. Mike Trout, Angels OF: He did not have his best year but it was still good enough not to lose this spot. I would only draft myself before him but I cannot find my name in this list.
2. Andrew McCutchen, Pirates OF: He is still improving, that is the scary part. He will be some team’s backbone like he is for the Pirates.
3. Jose Bautista, Blue Jays OF: He has the most home runs since 2010. He has come a long way in his career but he is not done yet.
4. Carlos Gomez, Brewers OF: Might be the safest bet of the 2015 season. Just as steady as can be.
5. Giancarlo Stanton, Marlins OF: He will lead the MLB in home runs this year and it will not be close.
6. Edwin Encarnacion, Blue Jays 1B: He has power and uses it often.
7. Miguel Cabrera, Tigers 1B: He would be battling for the top spot but that surgery scares me just enough for him to land here. If he is healthy, it will pay off but if not it will cripple teams that take the risk.
8. Jose Abreu, White Sox 1B: He can carry a couple of the statistical categories for any team he is on.
9. Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers P: If I believed pitchers won leagues, I would have drafted him first. If I draft him in the first round, I will not draft another pitcher until all other positions are full.
10. Robinson Cano, Mariners 2B: Jay-Z is his agent and I believe he will bounce up like a round ball as Jay said. He is listening to his comeback song and will show his worth.
11. Paul Goldschmidt, Diamondbacks 1B: Coming back from an injury, I am sure everyone has him higher but he is a buyer beware.
12. Adrian Beltre, Rangers 3B: I know he had an awful year but the team and line-up is way better. It will help him bounce back in the areas that fell off last year.
13. Troy Tulowitzki, Rockies SS: I am betting he plays over 100 games, that will put him worth this ranking. Here is to hoping. Also I hope he is a Met in the not so far future.
14. Anthony Rendon, Nationals 2B/3B: He is the real deal so stop trying to down play the man!
15. Ryan Braun, Brewers OF: As long as he gets the thumb up (no pun intended) he will be a great pick because he does it all.
16. Felix Hernandez, Mariners SP: He is the King and all for a reason. He also has a better offense this year to protect him for a change.
17. Buster Posey, Giants C/1B: I love the flexibility with the two positions and this guy can play at a high level. I just do not want to be the guy that drafts a catcher early.
18. Adam Jones, Orioles OF: Do I really have to convince of this player and what he can do on the field?
19. Anthony Rizzo, Cubs 1B: The kid is for real people.
20. Yasiel Puig, Dodgers OF: He will mature this year and is in a place where success is possible now. I am seeing consistent numbers. Here is to hope.
21. Victor Martinez, Tigers 1B: The injuries will not hold him back to the point where he is not elite. If he falls, you could steal a top 20 guy when healthy.
22. Michael Brantley, Indians OF: The real deal and I see more to come out of this talent.
23. Adrian Gonzalez, Dodgers 1B: He is the blue of the Dodgers and should have better team chemistry this year as well.
24. Ian Kinsler, Tigers 2B: He is a solid bat and is well protected in the line-up to make sure he will get his opportunities.
25. Jose Altuve, Astros 2B: He has the chance to be top 20 but the team and the player really needs to click from the start.
26. Hanley Ramirez, Red Sox SS: It would not surprise me to put him as high as 12th before the season starts. That’s how much spring training means to these guys.
