Raiders complete coaching staff. There are a lot of familiar names on the Oakland Raiders coaching staff as Jack Del Rio prepares for the 2015 season.

There are a lot of familiar names on the Oakland Raiders coaching staff this year. Several coaches have NFL playing experience including Defensive Coordinator Ken Norton Jr, Running Back Coach Bernie Parmalee, Wide Receiver Coach Rob Moore, Defensive Back Coach Marcus Robertson, and of course Head Coach Jack Del Rio.

OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR – Bill Musgrave

Musgrave will be entering his 17th season as an NFL Coach, and his second stint with the Raiders. Musgrave also coached with Del Rio as part of the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2003-04. Musgrave last served as Quarterback Coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, and was Offensive Coordinator for the Carolina Panthers, Jaguars, and Minnesota Vikings. Prior to joining the Eagles, Musgrave spent three years as Offensive Coordinator of the Vikings, overseeing the best rushing attack in the league over that span. In 2012, Running Back Adrian Peterson ran for the second highest single season mark in NFL history, running for a total of 2097 yards.

OLINE COACH – Mike Tice

Mike Tice was most recently the Offensive Line Coach for the Atlanta Falcons for one year. Before that he was a part of the Chicago Bears staff coaching the O-line from 2010-12 and was then promoted to Offensive Coordinator from 2012-13. Tice is known mostly for his time coaching the Minnesota Vikings from 2002-05. In between the Vikings and Bears jobs Tice spent four years working on Del Rio’s staff in Jacksonville. Tice is known as one of the best offensive line coaches in the league. Tice and Del Rio also played together with the Vikings.

QB COACH – Todd Downing

Downing previously served on the Buffalo Bills staff for the 2014 season as Quarterbacks Coach. He had also previously served as quarterbacks coach for the Detroit Lions where he helped QB Matthew Stafford become the franchise’s leading passer with 17,457 career passing yards.

RB COACH – Bernie Parmalee

Parmalee most recently served as the Tight Ends Coach for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2010-12. Parmalee has also coached with the Miami Dolphins from 2002-04 as Special Teams and Tight Ends Coach as well as coaching in the College ranks for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from 2005-09. Parmalee played running back for the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets from 1992 to 2000.

WR COACH – Rob Moore

Moore’s previous coaching experience includes coaching the Wide Receivers for Syracuse University from 2010-13 and on the Buffalo Bills staff coaching the Wide Receivers for the 2014 season. Moore was released along with the rest of the Bills coaching staff after then Head Coach Doug Marrone unexpectedly left the Bills after the 2014 season. Moore played 11 NFL seasons from 1990 to 2001.

TE COACH – Bobby Johnson

Johnson most recently served as the Detroit Lions assistant offensive line coach. He was also tight ends coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012 and assistant offensive line coach for the Buffalo Bills from 2010-11. He was offensive line coach at Indiana from 2005-09.

DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR – Ken Norton Jr.

An 18 year NFL veteran, Norton most recently served as Seattle’s linebackers coach, helping the team to three NFC West Division titles, two NFC Championships and a Super Bowl XL VIII win. Norton helped the Seattle defense rank second in total defense (309.5 yards per game) and finished in the top 10 four times (2011-14), including leading the league in total defense the past two seasons. Prior to joining the NFL coaching ranks, Norton Jr. spent six seasons at USC. While at USC, Norton Jr. went from being the defensive assistant/linebackers in 2004 to the linebackers coach from 2005-08. He was promoted to assistant Head Coach of the defense/linebackers in 2009. Norton and Del Rio became friends during their days playing linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys from 1989-91.

DL COACH – Jethro Franklin

Franklin has a lot of experience coaching the defensive line, most recently serving in that capacity for the Miami Hurricanes from 2011-14. He also had stops coaching the Defensive Line for the Temple Owls, USC Trojans, Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Green Bay Packers.

LB COACH – Sal Sunseri

Sunseri worked as the defensive line coach for the Carolina Panthers from 2002-08. Sunseri was then named as the outside linebackers coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team from 2009-11. In January 2012, days after winning his second national championship with Alabama, Sunseri left to join Tennessee as the defensive coordinator. In December 2012, Sunseri accepted a job as a defensive assistant at Florida State University. Sunseri helped coach Florida State to the 2013 BCS National Championship.

DB COACH – Marcus Robertson

This is Robertson’s second year with the Raiders. After an endorsement from future Hall of Fame Safety Charles Woodson, Robertson was promoted from assistant defensive backs Coach to defensive backs Coach from Del Rio. Robertson has also coached defensive backs for the Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions. His playing career spans from 1991-2002.

SPECIAL TEAMS COACH – Brad Seely

A coaching veteran of 37 years, Seely has spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, and San Francisco 49ers. With the 49ers from 2011-14, the special teams unit tied for most field goals converted, ranked second in net punting average, second in gross punting average, and seventh in opponents return average.

SPECIAL TEAMS ASST COACH – Tracy Smith

Smith rejoins special teams coordinator Brad Seely after spending the last three seasons as a special teams assistant with the 49ers.
