Fantasy NCAAB Top Plays 2-9-15

Here are your plays for the short slate tonight. The big question is whether or not to play Jahlil Okafor.

The big question on everyone’s mind tonight will be to play Jahlil Okafor or not. The answer to this question reminds me of my most recent trip to the grocery store. By the way in case you were wondering, real men go grocery shopping. I got the list of items from the girlfriend and I’m just filling up the cart and checking items off like a future hall of famer. All was going great until I arrived at the cold cuts section. I love Thumann’s turkey breast and this was on sale which made it even better. I get to the counter and ask for one pound of Thumann’s turkey breast. The guy says “were all out of Thumann’s. We have our in store brand and Boar’s Head left for turkey.” At this store, Boar’s Head is always the most expensive and the taste is good, but not near as good as Thumanns. On the other hand the in store brand is god awful. I think they mix it with animal feces. If I wanted to have good turkey, I had to go with Boar’s Head even though it’s much more expensive. The other option I was given made the choice to go Boar’s Head that much easier. I got home and did actually enjoy the turkey sandwich. Tonight’s other forward options make Jahlil Okafor a must play. Like the Boar’s Head turkey his price is a bit high and the quality of the play is not great either, but going with him your locked into solid points at a very slim forward position. Here are your plays for the short slate tonight.

Fantasy NCAAB Top Plays 2-9-15

Top Plays

Justice Winslow -Forward Duke. Price 7400

Winslow is my top play of the night based on price. He has been on a tear in his last three games, and don’t expect that to stop now against the Seminoles. He will be the highest owned player of the night, and for good reason. Do not get cute and fade him here.

Ricardo Gathers -Forward Baylor. Price 9000

Gathers is the top high priced play tonight. He has the best match-up and is playing at home. Also, let’s not forget he’s coming off two of his best games of the season. One of the best rebounders in the nation, playing a team in the bottom half collectively on the glass. Gather’s will own the paint and will get easy put backs throughout the night against Oklahoma State.

Jahlil Okafor -Forward Duke. Price 9400

As discussed above, his price is a bit high, and the match-up could be better, but the forward position is way too slim tonight. Okafor is the majority of Duke’s offense when on the floor, and at worst will get you 25 fantasy points. His ceiling is of course in the high forties and he could be very productive if he says out of foul trouble.

Mid-Tier Plays

Buddy Hield -Guard Oklahoma. Price 8600

In what expects to be a fast paced game in Oklahoma, Hield is the best player in the game. His tag is a bit high, which is why he’s not a top play, but he has played very well in fast moving games. Oklahoma has been playing some slower paced teams in their last few, but there is nothing slow about Iowa State. Expect upwards of 70 possessions for both teams, which could mean big production from Hield.

Tyus Jones -Guard 6900

Tyus Jones’s prices is still good. Not great, but good. Florida State’s guards are not known for their defense, and Jones will be on the court for just about the entire game. This will lead to a decent assist total, and a good amount of shot attempts to get him to reach value.

Lester Medford -Guard Baylor. Price 5000

Medford burned people on Saturday, but that was on the road against a tough opponent. He also only attempted two shots and was stuck in foul trouble. This game is completely different. Expect a good bounce back here from Medford.

High Risk/Reward Plays

Jameel McKay -Forward Iowa State. Price 6300

McKay started the last game and could very well stay in the starting lineup for tonight’s game. A player like McKay could thrive in a fast paced game like this. Very skilled with the ball in his hands and will have his opportunities to score. His high ceiling and low floor is what makes him a high risk/reward player.

Robert Sampson -Forward Georgia Tech. Price 4700

Sampson is by no means what you would classify as a sexy play. He rarely ever plays above 22-23 minutes, and is not super active offensively. Virginia Tech is in the bottom 5% in rebounding in the entire country and over the past ten games Sampson has been Georgia Tech’s best rebounder. He does come with risk due to the limited amount of playing time, which is why he is on this list.

Travis Jorgenson -Guard Georgia Tech. Price 4500.

I always try to provide you with a minimum price player. Today it is Jorgenson. He has taken the rains as the starting point guard for Georgia Tech and he draws a good match-up tonight vs. the Hokies. He doesn’t shoot a whole lost so hitting value is predicated on his assist total. For minimum price you can certainly do worse.
