Fantasy NCAAB Top Plays 2-5-15

I assure you that even though players on this list have had a poor outing or two recently, you need them today.

Trust is a big part of our everyday lives. You trust your family will be there for you if you get hurt. You trust your friends will have your back if your ever in a pinch. You trust that when you go into the pantry to grab some swiss cakes that Freddy Kreuger will not pop out when you open the door. Okay maybe that’s just my crazy, neurotic self, but you get my point. We as people trust other people and things all the time. When this trust gets tested and people or things don’t come through, we tend to be extra cautious going forward with them. I know what your thinking how does this tie into the top plays for the night and Fanduel needing a wheel-barrel to send me my next payout? Well today’s top plays are players that you certainly have trusted throughout the season who recently failed you. You cannot let a bad taste in your mouth about a fantasy player judge how good they have been all season. My job today is to assure you that even though players on this list have had a poor outing or two recently, you need them in your lineups today. Trust me!

FANTASY NCAAB TOP PLAYS 2-5-15

Top Plays

Jarell Martin -LSU Forward. Price 8200

Boy what a bad game from Martin his last time out. You can afford a cheap guy to give you minimal production on most cases, but when you pay over 8K for a player and he ends with less than 9 fantasy points, man does it sting. Pound for pound or price for price Martin is the best play of the night. Don’t let his most recent flop sway your thinking. His usage his very high and he is simply too big for one of the worst rebounding teams in the country.

Tyrone Wallace -CAL Guard. Price 8600

Wallace has been up and down his previous six games. His fantasy points have been 37,33,21,15,28,11. The bad games mixed in the middle may have forced you to believe Wallace is a risky player. He has tested your trust. You need to have him today at home against a poor defending USC team that Wallace dropped 21 on the road about a month ago. Ask Askia Booker, Gary Payton Jr., and Joseph Young if they enjoyed playing USC. These are three guards that torched USC in three of their last four games. He’s Cal’s best player and Cal is projected a good total to reassure the safety net here.

Ryan Taylor -Marshall Forward. Price 8400

This play is strictly value. No trust issues here. I’ve found that anytime Marshall is on the slate this guy needs to be in your lineup. Ryan Taylor is Marshall’s offense and a big piece on defense. When Marshall wins Taylor has been a big part of it. He has tremendous numbers in Marshall’s six wins and Marshall is favored at home tonight. Plug him in.

Mid-Tier Plays

Aleksa Nikolic -Marshall Guard. Price 4800

Nikolic is all over the place his last six games. If you look closely though at his numbers you’ll find that he’s only had two bad games in his last ten. Let me rephrase that. He has had only two bad games out of his last ten for his price. That’s 80% of the time he hits value at this number (4800). He’s a good play tonight as Nikolic will get the minutes is just awful.

Jordan Mickey -LSU Forward. Price 9900

The only bad thing Mickey has going is his price. He basically needs 40 fantasy points for value which he has done twice in his last nine games. With that said he has had less than 32 points in those same games zero times. This makes him a nice safe play on a slate with many cheap options. This is a night where you can comfortably fit him in and enjoy the production because it will be there against Auburn.

Gary Payton II -Oregon State Guard. Price 9500

Same rule applies here with regards to price. Great play, just a bit of a tough price. Payton is a great play tonight at home against Washington State. Coming off a bad game on the road Payton comes back home and will have himself a game. If you played him in his last game do not let the performance get to you. He can ball and will do what he wants against Washington State who just doens’t have an answer for talented guards.

High Risk/Reward Plays

Bielfeldt/Albrecht/Abdur-Rahkman/Dawkins -Michigan Guard/Forward. Price Range 4600-4900

The above four players all see starters minutes with the injuries Michigan is going through right now. Michigan is a home favorite and all these guys are in play. I would not play all four in the same lineup but mix and match if running different lineups out there. All four players have high upside, but carry some risk as they do not have much court experience.

Danrad Knowles -Houston Forward. Price 5700

Knowles had a poor performance in his last game after running off a string of good ones. Knowles’s price  is still right and Houston looks to be in a close match-up at home. What have I preached this entire article? Do not let a recent performance cloud your judgement tonight. Knowles was playing well before his bad game and expect a nice bounce back tonight. The risk here of a blowout, which does tend to happen to Houston and they are running into a host Tulsa team. Seeing as the books see this as a seven point game, I like this spot for Knowles to keep his team in it.
