On the Powerplay Podcast: Michel Therrien, Surprising Isles, Non-scoring Leafs, and More

Last Word on Sports is proud to present their newest hockey podcast, On the Powerplay with Ben and Shawn.  Join Ben Kerr and Shawn Wilken each week as the take a look around the Hockey World focusing on the big issues of the NHL and elsewhere.

In their first episode Ben and Shawn focus on the Montreal Canadiens.  How has the first half of the season gone for the Habs?  Are the complaints about Michel Therrien’s coaching coming from the twitter-verse justified?  What do the Habs have to do to improve in the second half and contend for the Stanley Cup?

From there they take a look around the National Hockey League.  Are our conference front-runners the New York Islanders and Nashville Predators for real? Will the Boston Bruins and/or the Los Angeles Kings rally in the second half of the year and make the Stanley Cup Playoffs? Why are the Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers teams to fear in the Eastern Conference when the playoffs roll around? What is going on in Winnipeg, how have the Jets survived their various injuries and put themselves in the playoff picture?  What the heck is going on with the Toronto Maple Leafs scoring woes under new head coach Peter Horacek? Who will be the NHL’s biggest surprise in the second half of the year?

All the answers can be found in this very special debut episode of On The Powerplay with Ben and Shawn.
