Fantasy Profile: Salvador Perez C, Kansas City Royals

LWOS Ranking 9, Captains Value $6.33

One of the hardest things about catchers is maximising ABs. Salvador Perez’s season last year allowed his owners to do just that.  He played in 150 games with 606 PAs. That said he is a catcher and that is the ceiling you should expect. Perez is still just 25 years old so we would expect growth right? The problem is his K rate has increased, his contact rate has fallen and BA has dropped each season. Some of that drop was Babip driven last year so lets hope that his Avg. rebounds. He has been a top prospect and has shown he is a major leaguer.  Now, can he take that next jump into a fantasy powerhouse?  I look for some of these numbers to come up in his third full season.  There is potential here, he is a nice grab if you can grab him in a later round.
