Blue Jackets Boone Jenner Out 1-2 Months

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Boone Jenner on injured reserve. He is expected to miss up to two months with a stress fracture in his back.

The 21 year-old Jenner has appeared in 20 games this season, posting six goals and six assists for a Blue Jackets team that has had their struggles in the injury department all year long. Jenner was a 2011 NHL Draft selection of the Jackets (37th overall), and has 22 goals and 19 assists for a total of 41 points in 92 career National Hockey League games

With the loss of Jenner, the Jackets haves recalled center Sean Collins from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League. With the Falcons this season, Collins has appeared in 27 games contributing 10 goals and 9 assists  for 19 points with the Jackets top minor league affiliate. Collins was the Jackets ninth pick (187th overall) in the 2008 NHL Draft and in 166 career AHL games has posted 38 goals and 96 points.

The Bluejackets are 13-15-3 in the Metropolitan Division, and host the Central Division leading 22-9-1 Chicago Blackhawks at Nationwide Arena tonight.
