Pass Blocking: B

Moves very well  and surprising athlete. Initial quickness ranges from good to blindingly fast. Flashes the ability to snap the ball and slide to block in the blink of an eye. Agile to stay in front of defenders and has enough of an anchor to hold up against interior lineman.

Run Blocking: C

Has good movement skills to get to the second level and to get around on pulls. Very good initial quickness, and excellent on zone runs. Will not blow anyone off the ball and has just adequate power. Is effective latching on and steering to open up running lanes.

Technique: C

Drives his feet on contact and is relentless trying to move through defenders. Fires his hands in quick, successive punches, but lacks much pop in his hands. Has a leaner, longer frame and can get high and lose pad level and balance at times. Can work on shotgun snapping. Had a few bad snaps and shotgun miscommunications.

Intangibles: A-

Lacks a nasty disposition but gives outstanding effort on every play and will never be outworked. Football smart, aware, and started 50 games over his college career. Four-year starter and plays like it. Has exceptional character, outside of an uncharacteristic on-field fight against Idaho his freshman year.

Red Flags: Level of Competition

Bottom Line: Richburg has anchored the Rams offensive line since his freshman year, and could potentially come into starting action as rookie this upcoming NFL season. Richburg has the outstanding intangibles to man the pivot in the NFL and to gain the trust of an NFL coaching staff, not looking out of place either on the road against Alabama and at the Senior Bowl. Fits primarily as a zone-blocker.

Comparison: J.D. Walton

Grade: 8.1 (3rd Round)
