Pass Blocking: D

Currently would not be trusted at either tackle spot in pass pro at the next level. Is a decent athlete, especially considering his size, but does not translate to good protection. Is surprisingly agile to redirect, but can still be beaten by inside moves and does not have the lateral quickness to hold up when defenders run the arc. Susceptible to speed.

Run Blocking: B-

Clearly a better run blocker than pass protector at this point. That said, he is not without his issues. Is able to get to the second level pretty well, but does not connect with defenders once he gets there. Highly inconsistent. Will create movement on one play and rocked backwards on the next.

Technique: D-

Lunges and will miss cut blocks, winding up on the ground far too often, without successfully taking out his man. Has strong hands but does not lock out well enough at this point. Plays too high which allows defenders to duck under him and get to the QB or the ballcarrier.

Intangibles: F

Plays with adequate effort. Can seem lost at times, allowing to defenders to go past him without blocking anybody (see 2012 vs. Virginia Tech). Highly inconsistent. Bounced around the offensive line without consistently locking down a position, and did not start a number of games even as an upperclassmen. Needs a lot of coaching. Has concerns about his character and work ethic.

Red Flags: Raw Talent, Character Concerns, Work Ethic, Underachiever, Project

Bottom Line: Henderson has more red flags than all 32 NFL head coaches on gameday. He is one of the more physically impressive linemen in the entire draft, but has not lived up to his billing as a top high school recruit, which does him no favors when considering his perception. Immense talent like Henderson’s is incredibly rare and NFL line coaches often mold projects like him into starters, so the onus is on Henderson to succeed. His skill-set is most conducive to power running team.

Comparison: Jared Gaither

Grade: 7.6 (5th Round)
