Athleticism: B-

Quicker than fast. Has good speed but will not break off huge runs. Got caught from behind against USC this season. Has great burst and cutting ability. Will elude defenders, make multiple moves and pick up chunk yardage. Consistently picks up 5- and 10-yard runs.

Power: C

Has some power but does not really show it on film. Runs upright and will only occasionally lower his pads on contact. Can be easily wrapped up  and contained when he is standing still and doesn’t have momentum. When running downhill he is tough to bring down and can drag multiple defenders.

Third Down: C

Has good hands, and is well utilized in the passing game for Arizona. Does not extend and pluck, but catches closer to the body. Sub-par blocker at best. Appeared better as a lead blocker on the read option than as a pass protector.

Intangibles: C-

Played in a spread option offense, and may need to adjust to the more confined running lanes of the NFL as opposed to wide running lanes he had in college. Carried a heavy workload and managed to stay relatively healthy. Had charges brought against him for assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.

Red Flags: Character Concerns

Bottom Line: Is a very good runner both between the tackles and out in space. The amount of tread he has left on his tired could factor into his draft position, but is still fairly young and declared as a true junior. Will be most effective in a zone blocking scheme where he can take advantage of his athleticism and vision. Likely a starter, unlikely a star.

Comparison: LeSean McCoy

Grade: 8.2 (3rd Round)
