The Dubs Just Keep Getting Dubs

Ahh… the Golden State Warriors are finally playing how we expected them to.  They’ve been pretty much unstoppable during this 9 game win streak. The streak’s been in jeopardy a few times, but they find a way to keep it alive. The most impressive win from this streak so far has been against the Miami Heat. To drop 123 points on the two-time defending champs would seem unheard of. But when you have Stephen Curry on your team, it’s pretty easy.

It really is amazing at how balanced this Warrior team is. Obviously Steph Curry and David Lee are the stars of the team, but they’re not the only reason this team is finally molding together. Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Harrison Barnes, and Andrew Bogut are playing huge roles for this team. You can pretty much give Klay Thompson the ball anywhere in the arena and he’ll knock it down. Harrison Barnes is a solid outside shooter and can work down low. Iggy can be an all-star caliber player with his explosiveness and defense. He’s also a pretty clutch player. Andrew Bogut doesn’t always score, but he will make opponents work for their buckets down low. He is a physical and scrappy player who gets the job done. With this core leading the way, Golden State is really starting to look like a contender.

Don’t think this streak so far is a fluke. This Warriors team is just getting started. Before the streak, they were the 7th seed in the Western Conference. They are now the 4th seed. I really hope this team plays the Rockets in the playoffs. Watching two of the top five offenses in the league going at it in a 7 game series is truly a gift from the basketball gods. Do not be surprised if this team is in the Conference Finals. They are legit. They may be one of the younger teams in the league, but they have the playoff experience. When you’re one of the youngest teams in the league and you take the ageless San Antonio Spurs to 6 games, it says a lot. The Warriors are on everyone’s radar and have the league’s respect.
