It’s Showtime! Seahawks Put In Another All-Star Performance

We’ve all heard the saying, “You can have the whole seat but you’ll only need the edge,” and that’s exactly what fans are sitting on as they watch leading man, Russell Wilson and his all-star supporting cast take the Seattle Seahawks into the number one spot in the NFC.

Wilson has found ways to win even when all the cards seemed stacked up against the Hawks. In fact, he didn’t just find a way to win, he found a way to help the Seahawks to a dominant 33-10 destruction of the Falcons.  He never loses his composure and seems unaffected by the supposed sophomore curse that has not been as kind to his peers Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck.

But before Russell Wilson can say, “Go Hawks,” he will tell you the nine wins this season have been a complete team effort.

One of the many stand outs on this team, Golden Tate might think of changing his name to platinum because week after week, he has made great plays and been a major contribution to the Seahawks 9-1 record.  His 71-yard punt return against the Buccaneers and one-handed touchdown catch in Atlanta are both memorable plays that have Seahawks fans wondering, “What’s he going to do next week.”  Golden makes things happen but he’s not the only shining star on this Seahawk team that continues to lead the way in their division.

Marshawn Lynch has run for 871 yards so far this season – 270  of those yards have come in the past two games.  If the Hawks keep giving him the ball, he possibly could make or break last year’s record of 1590 yards. It’s amazing to see how the play will be over but Lynch is still on the move.  Lynch did a great job steamrolling through Atlanta’s defense and will be ready for Jerad Allen next week when the Seahawks meet the Minnesota Vikings at home.

Jermaine “Chop Chop” Kearse is another one who keeps making amazing plays and his quarterback believes in him and has said more than once that Kearse is set to have a stand-out year this season and Doug Baldwin also comes through as a go-to guy that Wilson can count on to make plays happen.

And can we talk about Seattle’s crazy defense? They appeared to fix some holes that were visible during their meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but they suffered a casualty against the Falcons:  Brandon Browner was sidelined with a groin injury.  That left an opening in the Seahawk’s notorious Legion of Boom which includes Browner, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor which Walter Thurmond filled as a quick understudy making some incredible plays.

If Browner has to sit on the sidelines next week, Seattle will need an encore performance from Thurmond as they work to stop Minnesota’s Adrian Peterson who is looking to get another 2000-yard season.

The November 17 game against the Vikings brings the Hawks home in front of their not-so-secret “secret” weapon – the 12th man – and is also a week that hopefully brings the return of Breno Giacomini and Russell Okung. Russell Wilson for sure will be glad to get his two tackles back after being sacked 28 times this season.

Center Max Unger  and  tight end, Red Bryant, who were both out due to concussions are also expected to return.

And mercy, mercy, could it finally be that the Seahawks are going to finally get to take the Ferrari out of the garage and see what Percy Harvin is going to do for this team?

The Hawks have their eye on being 10-1 and with the cast of performers like this team has, the matchup against the Vikings promises to be a great show.
