Luis "Dracula" Suarez Clearly Wants a Move from the UK

Really, Suarez would be best to move as far away from the UK as possible, and Liverpool would do well to see that happen.

In what has been a circus of a year (okay, several years), for Suarez, his most recent antics were to acknowledge the desire to play for Real Madrid (there are also links to Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich).  He told a Uruguayan radio program, “I have a contract with Liverpool. I am happy in Liverpool. I love Liverpool, but this year was very difficult for me, my wife and my daughter.”

Suarez has apparently made his intentions to leave Anfield known to Manager Brendan Rogers.  He says, “I’ve already talked with Brendan Rodgers, he knows what I want. He understands my situation.  I have a family, a daughter, and I am not prepared to keep enduring the English press.”  Oh, bugger off.  Stop biting people and the media would leave you alone!

At the outset I suggested that Liverpool need to get this guy off their club – and quick.  Of course no one is going to challenge his ability – he has unbelievable touch and creativity near goal.  However, when a player is a poison to his team no amount of skill, whether Messi, Ronaldo or other, is worth the headaches.

You’ll remember a few well documented and very public instances of his temporary insanity.  The first was in 2011-12 season when he was accused of racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.  Most sane people after having made a big mistake such as that would do whatever they could to rectify the situation.  Not Luis.  Instead, he refused to shake the guy’s hand, only making matters worse.  The situation escalated further when Liverpool took a lot of flack for having supported Suarez throughout.

In an attempt to one-up himself, this year has also been littered with Suarez’ idiocy.  You will no doubt remember the witch hunt against him for diving through much of the year, led by Liverpool’s own Roger Hunt, who urged him to put an end to those antics.  And who could forget the hand ball in the 4th round of the FA Cup against Mansfield Town.  Even Rogers admitted it was a blatant hand ball, though he defended Suarez by saying it was accidental – yeah, right.  And then the piece de resistance; in a game against Chelsea, he purposely bit defender Branislav Ivanovic – hence the “Dracula” nickname I just now bestowed upon him.

Suarez is a headache that no one needs. Liverpool are a proud organization with a devout fan base who are almost begging for positivity.  “Positivity” and “Suarez” are like oil and water.  He’ll score a lot, and that’s positive, but then do something stupid that is anything but.
