Tim Bozon Update: Awake, Stable and Out of Intensive Care

Tim Bozon Update: Some great news this morning on the condition of Kootney Kootenay Ice player and Montreal Canadiens prospect Tim Bozon.

The Saskatoon Health Region has released a statement saying that Bozon’s condition is improving as he recovers from meningitis.

Bozon is now listed in stable condition and was moved out of the intensive care unit at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon over the weekend. His parents have said that Bozon is awake, moving around in his bed, and has begun trying to feed himself and speak. The release cautions that Bozon has a long recovery ahead of him.

Bozon was taken to hospital on March 1 following the Ice’s game against the Saskatoon Blades and was diagnosed with meningitis.  Eventually, he was placed into a medically induced coma to stop the progression of the bacterial form of the disease, and was slowly awaken last week.

The WHL has created a trust fund to help the Bozons pay for medical bills. Donations can be made at any BMO Bank of Montreal branch in Western Canada. Donations can be sent to the Tim Bozon Trust c/o Western Hockey League 2424 University Drive NW Calgary Alta., T2N 3Y9.

The family continues to request privacy going forward, they are not doing interviews now, and will release further updates as they know more and if Tim Bozon’s condition changes.
