TORONTO ARGONAUTS STATEMENT – RICKY RAY

Toronto – Quarterback Ricky Ray underwent successful surgery this morning to repair the torn labrum in his right (throwing) shoulder as well as a small tear in his right rotator cuff. The procedure was performed in Cleveland, Ohio by doctors at Cleveland Clinic. Ray will begin rehabilitative therapy immediately and doctors expect that he will fully recover. Normal rehabilitation time is approximately 6 months. Ray is expected to report on time for 2015 training camp.

Ray led the CFL in passing yards (4,595), touchdowns (28), completion percentage (68.5 per cent) and completions (425) this season. He is the east nominee for the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player award for the 2014 season.  Ray’s Argos finished the season at 8-10 and thrid in the CFL’s East Division.

Ray missed the Argonauts final game of the season, a 23-5 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks, after suffering the injury in the second last game of the season against the Montreal Alouettes.
