The 2025 edition of ATP Gstaad Open rolls into Day 4 with Round of 16 action set to complete. As ever, we preview and predict the four matches scheduled for you.
ATP Gstaad Day 4 Predictions
Jerome Kym vs Francesco Passaro
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Jerome Kym made the most out of his wild card by playing a solid match in his first round to reach the Round of 16. It was a tight match but the #1 ranked Swiss player held his nerve to close out the match. He takes on Francesco Passaro, who played a marathon match consisting of three tie breakers. Expect a tight match yet again with Passaro utilising his heavier serve to get more free points than his opponent.
Prediction: Passaro in 3
Roberto Carballes Baena vs Francisco Comesana
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Very little separates the two players as they enter this match. Both have an identical win-loss record this year, and only five rankings places separate them. They both beat a fellow countryman in the first round to reach here. While Roberto Carballes Baena struggled at times, Francisco Comesana looked much more assured. Expect the 24-year-old Comesana to have more in the tank as the match stretches.
Prediction: Comesana in 3
Arthur Cazaux vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry
Head-to-head – Cazaux 0-1 Etcheverry
Arthur Cazaux heads into this week on the back of a solid Wimbledon. The Frenchman came through qualifying and lost in the second round. He faces Tomas Matrin Etcheverry, who hasn’t won a match since Halle. Expect Cazaux to make Etcheverry work for his points, but on clay, the Argentine can quickly adapt and nab the win.
Prediction: Etcheverry in 3
Alexander Bublik vs Alexander Shevchenko
Head-to-head – Bublik 1-0 Shevchenko
In the battle of Kazakhs, expect a fiery battle between the two. Alexander Bublik had a disastrous Wimbledon campaign after great performances in the lead up to it. Alexnader Shevchenko hasn’t quite gained a lot of momentum this season but his win over Stan Wawrinka in the first round showcased how talented he is. Expect a lot of long rallies with Bublik using his superior variety from the baseline to frustrate Shevchenko.
Prediction: Bublik in 2
