The road to the French Open 2025 is now going through ATP Hamburg in Germany. The 500-level tournament is an excellent preparation for the year’s second slam. As always, we preview and predict the matches scheduled for you. But who will advance?
ATP Hamburg Day 3 Predictions
Francisco Comesana vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry
Head-to-Head: First Meeting
Neither player has managed to build any momentum heading into this week, but this tournament is a fresh start, as always, and both Argentinians should be looking for a good result here. Francisco Comesana has risen through the rankings, and he faces Tomas Martin Etcheverry, who is already very experienced at this level. Expect a tight battle, with Etcheverry edging this one on his more powerful groundstrokes.
Prediction: Etcheverry in 3
Alexander Bublik vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard
Head-to-Head: Bublik 1-1 Perricard
This will be an interesting one. Both players, after a disappointing Italian Open, went on to win Challenger events and potentially enter this week in good form. Alexander Bublik will no doubt employ a lot of variety, but Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard is highly consistent, and his big serving should yield him the upper hand.
Prediction: Mpetshi Perricard in 3
Frances Tiafoe vs Yunchaokete Bu
Head-to-Head: First Meeting
Frances Tiafoe has been an enigma this year with his performances. The American hasn’t had any form this year, and this is his last chance to get some matches under his belt before the French Open. He takes on Yunchaokete Bu, who did reach the final in a challenger event last week, but from the baseline, Tiafoe still has the extra juice to trouble Bu as the match progresses.
Prediction: Tiafoe in 2
