ATP Lyon Semifinal Predictions

Alexander Bublik vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard

Head to head – Bublik 1-0 Perricard

What a week Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard is having. The Frenchman is into the last four and, barring the walkover, he’s had to beat quality opponents to reach here. He takes on the second seed Alexander Bublik, who did struggle in his quarterfinal match, but the Kazakh is one of the top contenders left for the trophy this week.

These two players have met once before with Bublik winning that encounter last year but Perricard carries tremendous momentum this week. The Frenchman’s serving has been lethal but it just feels that the more experienced Bublik will have the mindset and the variety that’s needed to Usha player towards the trophy.
Prediction: Bublik in 2

Luciano Darderi vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry

Head to head – First Meeting

Tomas Martin Etcheverry still searches for his first ATP tour title and this week looks as good a chance as any. The Argentine is a solid clay courter and has produced consistent results over the past few years. He takes on a young rising player from Italy, Luciano Darderi, who has already won a title this year and looks to be ready for the big stage.

All in all, this match looks pretty tough to call as the Argentine looked in great touch in his quarter-final match while the Italian will be surely well rested after getting a walkover. Expect a thrilling contest between the two but with Darderi having already won a title this year and posting great results over the past few weeks, he looks to be more confident and in form.
Prediction: Darderi in 3
