Alexander Zverev has reached at least the finals or better of all the Slams except Wimbledon. His best result at SW19 has been a shocking fourth round which he has managed to reach three times in his career. After finally winning his first Slam at the French Open just a month ago, the German looks finally on track to have a blockbuster Wimbledon campaign.
Alexander Zverev at Wimbledon 2026 So Far
The draw gods have been kind to him, and with no Carlos Alcaraz in the picture this year at SW19, Zverev finds himself with a golden chance to at least reach the finals. His first two rounds have been straight forward with no major scares and looking at his potential opponents ahead, there doesn’t seem to be any players in his half that should be able to match him with the notable exception of Taylor Fritz.
His first round match was an interesting one as it was his first match at a Major having won one. The German did drop the second set but hung on in two tiebreakers in the the third and fourth sets to beat Alexander Blockx 7-6 4-6 7-6 7-6. He then went on to face Valentin Royer who proved to be easy pickings as Zverev proceeded to dispacth him in straight sets 6-1 6-3 7-6.
The Week Ahead
Zverev takes on Marcos Giron in the third round in what should be another straight forward win for the German. Overall, Zverev has looked very solid as he often is in the first week of a Slam.
A potential fourth round looms against Jiri Lehecka who while is a solid baseliner, Zverev is just more polished at the same things Lehecka does well. In the quarterfinals, he may face Taylor Fritz, who did beat him at Halle and should be his biggest test on the path to a Wimbledon final as Zverev has lost seven straight to Fritz and trails the head to head 5-10.
If Zverev manages to overturn his fortunes against Fritz, which he has a good chance of doing given his recent confidence of winning a Slam, his semifinal opponent would most likely be Alex de Minaur–and that match up should heavily favor Zverev.
The final is where things become very tricky should either of Jannik Sinner or Novak Djokovic arrive as the German is still a step behind in solving these two players in the best-of-five format.
All that being said, it is no secret that Zverev is in with a great chance to have a great Wimbledon 2026 and it is going to be exciting how far he can push himself to maybe win the Channel Slam and join a select few legends in that list.
