WTA Strasbourg Day 4 Predictions Including Emma Navarro vs Iva Jovic

With the French Open on the horizon, it is understandable why some big names are not part of the WTA event in Strasbourg, but there are still some eye-catching matches to look forward to on the third day, including the all-American encounter between Emma Navarro and teenager Iva Jovic. Defending champion Marie Bouzkova will also be in action as several players look to fine-tune their game ahead of the second Slam of the year, or maybe even seize a rare opportunity to win a title at the WTA level. We offer our predictions on who will advance.

WTA Strasbourg Day 3 Predictions

Marie Bouzkova vs Oleksandra Oliynykova

Head–to–Head:  First Meeting

Marie Bouzkova’s form on clay has been inconsistent since her title run in Bogota. A second-round exit in Rome at the hands of Taylor Townsend didn’t inspire much confidence. She got through Katerina Siniakova here, but it took a tiebreak to do it.

Oliynykova comes in hot. She ground out a 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 win over Eala in nearly three hours, showing the kind of resilience that wins tournaments. Her 11-6 clay record this season quietly tells a better story than her ranking suggests, and she disrupts opponents with relentless variety and shifting tactics rather than raw power, a style that can genuinely unsettle Bouzkova’s rhythm.

The Czech has the experience to steady herself in big moments, but Oliynykova looks like the player in form here. Give me the Ukrainian to make it four wins on four in Strasbourg.
Prediction: Oliynykova in 3

Clara Tauson vs Jaqueline Cristian

Head–to–Head: Tauson 0 – 1 Cristian

Tauson had a bye to open the draw, so she arrives here fresh but untested this week. That’s a double-edged sword, no wear on the legs, but also no match rhythm. Her 2026 record reads 8-9 overall and a concerning 0-1 on clay, and she’s won just four of her last ten matches. The Dane has genuine weapons on this surface, but the form sheet gives little reassurance.

Cristian, on the other hand, is carrying serious momentum. She dismantled McCartney Kessler in just 76 minutes in the first round in a performance that was as emphatic as scorelines get. Following tough recent losses to elite opponents, the efficient display gave her a vital confidence boost. The Romanian’s heavy baseline striking is tailor-made for clay, and she’s shown she can overpower opponents when locked in.

Cristian is the one walking onto the court with her game firing, and Tauson may need time to find her footing, and against a player in this kind of form, that time might not be available.
Prediction: Cristian in 2

Shuai Zhang vs Diane Parry

Head–to–Head: First Meeting

Shuai Zhang is here as a lucky loser and carries an 11-15 overall record in 2026 with a 3-7 mark on clay, which tells its own story. She did beat Cristina Bucsa to advance, showing she can still produce on this surface, but the form lines are difficult to ignore for a 37-year-old who shouldn’t really be in this draw at all.

Parry is the opposite story. She arrives riding high on confidence after winning the WTA 125 in Paris the week before, and extended that streak to five straight wins by edging Emma Raducanu in a tense two-hour-plus battle here. Her signature one-handed backhand is a genuine weapon on clay, and playing in front of home fans in France only adds to the momentum.

Zhang’s experience and ability to grind could make things uncomfortable, but Parry looks like a player who won’t be rattled right now.
Prediction:  Parry in 2

Emma Navarro vs Iva Jovic

Head–to–Head: First Meeting

Emma Navarro may finally be finding her footing on clay after the American tore through Sara Bejlek with a blistering opening set before steadying herself in the second to close out a 6-1 6-4 win. After a season littered with frustrating early exits, Navarro suddenly has a chance to build real momentum heading into Roland Garros. But this next test feels far trickier than the scorelines on paper might suggest.

Iva Jovic arrives with confidence and growing belief after pushing Coco Gauff to the brink in Rome, where she served for the match before the world number two escaped in three sets. The teenager’s all-court variety and fearless shot-making can disrupt Navarro’s rhythm, especially if rallies become physical. Navarro’s experience could still prove decisive in the big moments, but Jovic looks more than capable of turning this into another statement performance, and the older American may need her sharpest level yet to survive.
Prediction: Jovic in 2
