3. Steven Diez
Canada’s Steven Diez ended a 23-year playing career in September after a challenging two-year period dealing with injury setbacks. Diez announced his decision on Instagram, where he also acknowledged fatherhood as a driving factor following the birth of his son. The 34-year-old touched the world’s Top 150 in singles and was part of the Canadian team that won the now-defunct ATP Cup in 2022.
4. Ivan Dodig
Ivan Dodig announced his decision to retire from professional tennis in September. He intends to play the remainder of the season. Dodig is a seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion (three titles in men’s doubles and four in mixed doubles). The 40-year-old was part of the Croatian team that won the 2018 Davis Cup and clinched a Silver Medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in men’s doubles. He was recently named as Croatia’s new Davis Cup team captain.
