Jannik Sinner’s cooking skills might be on par with his tennis game after his latest vlog to celebrate his Wimbledon title became an instant hit.
Sinner became the first Italian to win the Wimbledon singles title earlier this month. He beat close rival and two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in four sets to win the coveted grass-court Grand Slam. This was his fourth Major title. Sinner banished the memories of his French Open final heartbreak, where he squandered three match points to lose to the Spaniard.
Sinner’s game face typically comes off as a bit of an extreme introvert for the sociable tennis fan. Still, the World No. 1’s unspoken passion for content creation is slowly winning over many admirers and showcasing his approachable and authentic personality.
Sinner’s Popularity Soars
He owns a verified YouTube channel under his name, which he created in October 2024. So far, he has amassed over 120,000 subscribers. Sinner reached 4 million Instagram followers after winning Wimbledon, a testament to his soaring popularity.
It turns out that Sinner can use his hands not just to hit missile forehands, but to serve up a full plate of pasta.
In a recent behind-the-scenes video of his Wimbledon experience, Sinner is seen preparing dinner for his team and family before his semifinal meeting against 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic the next day.
The video in the kitchen (2:10) opens up with Sinner discussing his upcoming match against Djokovic. He fills a large pot with pasta and water. Then he cuts an onion and fries it in a pan, adding sliced cherry tomatoes. The footage then switches to the dinner table, where Sinner engages in a jovial team bonding session at dinner time.
Fans Rave About Sinner’s Cooking Skills in Latest Vlog
Tennis fans were mainly impressed with Sinner’s off-court flair and hand skills in the kitchen.
“I love watching the behind-the-scenes with his team in the kitchen. I’d love to see more cooking videos and maybe him cooking with his dad!! So amazing he can cook like this as the #1 player in the world,” one fan in the video comment section wrote.
Another said, “What a great report. It’s nice to discover another side of Jannik off the pitch. He’s endearing and loves to talk! Plus, he’s not afraid of anything: eating pasta with tomato sauce in a white t-shirt! A truly beautiful moment.”
While Sinner has previously underestimated his cooking skills, he appears to be learning a lot from his father, who works as a chef and regularly cooks for him when they travel together.
And one fan is calling for Sinner to start a whole cooking show. “Don’t get me wrong, we love those vlogs but we need a full cooking show from him now so happy for the win in Wimbeldon.”
This was echoed by similar responses, with another adding, “WE WANT MORE OF JAN‘s COOKING CONTENTS!!!!!!”
Sinner is currently taking an extended break from the sport to recharge following his Wimbledon success. He withdrew from the upcoming Toronto Masters in Canada but is expected to return to action in Cincinnati to defend his title.
