Carlos Alcaraz beat Jannik Sinner at Roland Garros, French Open.

Jannik Sinner Joins Elite Lists of Tennis Greats Ahead of Wimbledon Final

Jannik Sinner, over the last couple of years, has proven to the world how good a player he is on hard courts, defeating some of the best players on the tour and winning multiple titles. However, he didn’t achieve many substantial results on the trickier surfaces, such as those made of clay and grass. He put most of the questions to bed after making it to the Roland Garros final and playing an absolute epic against Carlos Alcaraz. He eventually lost the match in five sets, but showed the world that he has a game for the clay as well.

Sinner makes grass his friend

The only surface that remained was the grass, where the doubts emerged again. They further strengthened after he lost to Alexander Bublik in his second-round match at the Halle Open. Sinner made sure he put everything to rest once and for all, as he improved his game tremendously over the span of weeks.

From the get-go this Wimbledon, Sinner has looked flawless on the surface, thrashing each of his opponents, including seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic in the semifinals. As the Italian has reached the final of Wimbledon 2025, he has stamped his name in a few of the elite lists of tennis and is in company with a few of the best to have ever played the game.

Sinner joins the Big 4

Sinner becomes only the fifth player since 1995 to have featured in the final of all four Grand Slams of the year. The ones to do it before him are Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray. The Italian wouldn’t mind being in the company of the much-celebrated Big 4.

Another rank among the greats

He also joins an elite list, being the second youngest player to have featured in the final of all four Grand Slams. The list features Jim Courier, Rafael Nadal, Andre Agassi, and Roger Federer. Only Courier pipped him in the record as he achieved the feat at the age of 22, and Sinner has done it at 23.

Sinner has developed an all-court game and has shown glimpses of future greatness as he and Carlos Alcaraz are currently creating one of the greatest rivalries of all time. Fans would be glued to their seats, hoping for yet another classic from the modern greats.
