Nick Kyrgios chooses Carlos Alcaraz over Jannik Sinner in comparisons to the Big 3

Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has always been very vocal about his opinions on the tour. Having played in a generation dominated by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic–famously called the “Big 3”–Kyrgios certainly has a fair idea of the capabilities of the legends. The Aussie has also seen modern stars Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz from up close and one would like to give an ear to the comparisons he makes between the generations.

Kyrgios points out difference between Alcaraz and Sinner

In a recent interview with the Guardian, Kyrgios heaped praise about both Sinner and Alcaraz. “It’s pretty obvious those two are going to be juggernauts of the sport for the next 10 or 15 years. They pushed each other to a level that not many have played before. I think Alcaraz has that flair and X-factor of Federer, Nadal, and Novak.”

Kyrgios certainly believes that the Italian and the Spaniard will be at the top of the sport for a long time and was thoroughly impressed by their level. However, while drawing comparisons with the Big 3, Kyrgios stuck by the side of Alcaraz attributing his flair.

Kyrgios added, “Sinner is incredibly powerful, but Alcaraz will be up there with those greats.” The Aussie believes that Sinner is extremely powerful in his on-court game; however, he directed his statement about the recently crowned French Open champion by once again naming him close to the Big 3.

After playing a classic at the French Open, both Sinner and Alcaraz would certainly like to outperform each other at the forthcoming Wimbledon Championships. Alcaraz has already won the event twice. He has put himself in company with legends like Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray, who are also two-time champions at the All-England Club. Sinner’s best result, on the other hand, has been the semifinal appearance he made in 2023.
