ATP Eastbourne Final Prediction: Taylor Fritz vs Jenson Brooksby

It’s an all-American final at the ATP Lexus Eastbourne Open, as three-time champion Taylor Fritz takes on Jenson Brooksby. Fritz has been almost unstoppable at this event over the years, clinching the trophy in 2019, 2022, and 2024. While he hasn’t been perfect this week, with three matches on the way going to a decider, it’s quite a challenge to defeat him at this venue. Can Brooksby pull it off? Who do you think will take home the title?

Taylor Fritz vs Jenson Brooksby

Head-to-head: 1-1

Taylor Fritz has already won a title on grass two weeks ago in Stuttgart, but these runs couldn’t be any more different. While in Germany he wasn’t broken even once (just like in Eastbourne in 2022 and 2024), this week he’s had to battle for every single win. But the most important thing is that the top seed is still prevailing. He’s shown the grit and looks to enter Wimbledon with a lot of momentum after winning this title for the 4th time.

As recently as January, Jenson Brooksby didn’t even have an ATP ranking and his comeback has been as unique as his game and character. He made history by winning Houston in April (saved match points in three separate encounters along the way) before achieving very little for the next two months. He wasn’t even supposed to be in the Eastbourne main draw after losing to Aleksandar Vukic in qualifying, but made it in as a lucky loser and somehow remains in contention for the title.

Brooksby is a tricky customer and Fritz himself knows that after their 2021 US Open clash. Their recent encounter in Australia was much more comfortable, but we have to remember that was Brooksby’s first match after two years of inactivity. He’s better prepared now and his funky technique will make things tricky for Fritz off the ground. But still, the magic of the top seed in Eastbourne and his superior serve should be the deciding factors.
Prediction: Fritz in 3
