Wimbledon Men’s Final Prediction: Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev

A Wimbledon draw that began with 128 men has dwindled to just two as No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner will square off against No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev for glory at the All England Club.

For the Italian, this is proving he is still the best player in the world; that in a draw without Carlos Alcaraz, there is no worthy foe. For Zverev, this is about adding to the legacy. Can the German go from no Grand Slams to two in a matter of weeks?

As always, we at LWOT offer our roundtable predictions for the Wimbledon final. But who will raise the trophy on Sunday?

Wimbledon Men’s Final Prediction

Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev

Ateet
Alexander Zverev had never made a Wimbledon quarterfinal before this year, and now he is in the final after a flawless performance against Arthur Fery. He is playing the best grass-court tennis of his life, and his confidence is super high since winning the French Open. However, Jannik Sinner has been his kryptonite, and the defending champion looked back to his best in the semifinals against Novak Djokovic. Zverev’s newfound aggression could keep the sets close, but Sinner does almost everything better than Zverev and should lift his second Wimbledon title.
Prediction: Sinner in 3

Zain
For the fifth time this year, we will see Jannik Sinner take on Alexander Zverev, with the pair meeting on grass for the first time. You could argue that Zverev is playing the best tennis of his career, having won the French Open and now reached his first Wimbledon final. But in the final, he will face his kryptonite in Sinner, a player who has defeated him nine consecutive times across every surface. If Zverev serves lights out, I can see him winning a set, but Sinner is simply a much better player than the German in almost every aspect, and he won’t win this without much fuss.
Prediction: Sinner in 4

Jordan
Zverev’s French Open success, in which he received a unique opportunity as the draw opened up, allowing him to win a maiden Grand Slam title, seems to have changed his entire mentality. The German looks much more relaxed, and I feel he will give his best performance in a Major final. Nonetheless, I still expect Sinner to retain his title. He was outstanding against Novak Djokovic, and is better than anyone in tennis at staying focused against excellent servers and being ruthless when it counts. Expect some great individual moments from Zverev, but for Sinner to overwhelm him in the end.
Prediction: Sinner in 4

Ilemona
Zverev arrives full of confidence after winning his maiden major title at Roland Garros and reaching his first Wimbledon final. Sinner, meanwhile, has looked every bit the defending champion, moving through the draw with his usual consistency and relentless baseline pressure. The matchup has been firmly in Sinner’s control recently, with the Italian winning their last nine meetings and dropping just two sets since the start of 2024. Zverev’s serve and backhand give him the tools to make this competitive, but Sinner has repeatedly found ways to neutralize those weapons and raise his level in the biggest moments.
Prediction: Sinner in 3

Andreas
After struggling to claim a massive first Grand Slam title, could Zverev go back-to-back? His serve has been flawless, and he’s looked mentally sharp under pressure. Against Arthur Fery in the semifinal, he stepped up in the big moments during a first-set tiebreak, and never really looked back after. Sinner will be looking to re-establish himself at the top of the game. Sure, he’s No. 1 in the world, but one year has gone by since he’s won a Grand Slam. The Italian saved his best tennis for the Wimbledon semifinal, cruising over Novak Djokovic and only facing one break point. If he serves the way he did on Sunday, he has to like his chances to control the points. Sinner, meanwhile, is a far better returner than Zverev. In the pair’s last six meetings, Sinner hasn’t dropped a set, and he knows how to get the upper hand in the baseline rallies.

There may be less weight on Zverev’s shoulders, and he should be able to play freely and work his way into the longer rallies. The German’s first serve might be the biggest weapon on Centre Court. However, Sinner has gradually built confidence over these two weeks, and he hasn’t lost to Zverev in nearly three years. Look for the Italian to lift another trophy here, dropping the first set but recovering.
Prediction: Sinner in 4
