ATP 250 Buenos Aires semifinals
Djere – Fonseca: 15.02.2025 20:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Laslo Djere has won five straight matches. Two weeks ago, Djere reached the quarterfinals in Quimper, losing against Gueymard Wayenburg in three tight sets. This week in Buenos Aires, Laslo successfully qualified for the main draw tournament without losing a set. In the opening main draw round, he defeated Muller in straight sets. Djere offered and saved only one breakpoint. In the second round, as we predicted, Laslo won against Tabilo in three tight sets. It is his sixth appearance in Buenos Aires. Yesterday, Djere won against Seyboth Wild in straight sets in the quarterfinals. Last season, Laslo lost in the second round against Vavassori in straight sets.
Joao Fonseca has won three of his last five matches. In his season-opening tournament in Canberra, Fonseca won the Challenger title without losing a set. It is his first appearance in Buenos Aires. In the opening round, Joao won against Etcheverry in straight sets. Coria kept the match tight against Fonseca in the second round, as we predicted. Yesterday, in the quarterfinals, Joao lost the opening set against Navone but successfully turned the match around. Around this time last year, Joao played at the Challenger Tour level.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Djere is the slight underdog in this matchup, but we disagree. Laslo is a better clay-court player than Fonseca. Joao struggled in the last two matches and spent five hours on the court. On the other hand, Djere dominated against Seyboth Wild in the quarterfinals. We expect Djere to win tonight.
That being said, Djere winning is a value bet.

Cerundolo – Martinez: 15.02.2025 22:00 CEST
H2H: 1-1
Francisco Cerundolo has won four of his last five matches. This week in Buenos Aires, He won the opening-round match against Darderi in easy straight sets. He dominated from the start until the end. In the second round, Francisco won against Juan Manuel Cerundolo in straight sets. He was great under pressure, saving all four breakpoints. Yesterday, in the quarterfinals, Cerundolo upset Zverev in three sets, as we predicted.
Pablo Martinez has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Rotterdam, Martinez reached the quarterfinals, losing against Alcaraz in straight sets. This week in Buenos Aires, Pablo won the opening round match against Dzumhur in three tight sets. After losing the first set 0-6, Pablo adapted to the surface and turned the match around. He trailed 2-4 in the deciding set and even saved a match point. In the second round, Martinez won against Schwartzman 6-2 6-2. Musetti withdrew from the quarterfinal clash against Martinez yesterday.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Cerundolo is the favorite in this matchup, but we disagree. Martinez played well this week and has not spent much time on the court. He will be well-rested tonight. Both are clay-court specialists, and we expect a tight match that could go either way.
That being said, Martinez covering the games handicap is a value bet.
