ATP 500 Rotterdam semifinals
De Minaur – Bellucci: 08.02.2025 15:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Alex de Minaur won four of his last five matches. Last week, Alex helped Australia get the win against Sweden, winning against Mikael Ymer. This week in Rotterdam, in the opening round, de Minaur won against Goffin in straight sets, as we predicted. He saved all three breakpoints and was excellent under pressure. In the second round, Alex won comfortably against Mensik in straight sets, not offering any breakpoints. Today, in the quarterfinals, he demolished Altmaier in straight sets, as we had predicted. Last year in Rotterdam, Alex finished as a runner-up, losing against Sinner in the final in straight sets.
Mattia Bellucci has won five straight matches. The young Italian had a breakthrough in the 2024 season and entered the top 100 rankings. Last week in Montpellier, as we predicted, Bellucci lost in the 1/8-Finals against Kovacevic in straight sets. In Rotterdam, Mattia successfully qualified for the main draw tournament. He won both qualifying matches in straight sets. As we predicted, Mattia demolished Rottgering in straight sets in the opening main draw round. In the second round, Bellucci upset Medvedev in three sets. It is his first appearance in Rotterdam. Today, in the quarterfinals, Mattia upset Tsitsipas in straight sets. He offered and saved four breakpoints.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, de Minaur is the big favorite in this matchup, but we disagree. Mattia has been phenomenal this week. In his last two matches, Bellucci defeated Medvedev and Tsitsipas. He is fully confident; we expect him to keep this match tight.
That being said, Bellucci covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Mattia Bellucci +4.5 games handicap @1.73 @bet365
Alcaraz – Hurkacz: 08.02.2025 19:30 CEST
H2H: 3-0
Carlos Alcaraz has won four of his last five matches. So far this season, Carlos has played in just two tournaments. Two weeks ago in Melbourne, Alcaraz lost against Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open in four tight sets. He is the second seed this week in Rotterdam. Carlos won against Van de Zandschulp in three sets in the opening round. In the second round, he dominated against Vavassori in straight sets. It is his first appearance in Rotterdam. Today, in the quarterfinals, Alcaraz demolished Martinez in straight sets.
Hubert Hurkacz has won four of his last five matches. In the opening round of the ATP Rotterdam, Hurkacz won against Cobolli in straight sets, as we had predicted. In the second round, Lehecka retired after losing the first set 5-7 against Hurkacz. Today, in the quarterfinals, Hubert defeated Rublev after losing the first set 6-7. We predicted a tight match, and it did not disappoint. He served fantastically, hitting 17 aces with only one double fault.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Alcaraz is the favorite in this matchup, but we disagree. Carlos leads in head-to-head meetings 3-0, but all wins were tight. Hubert is a great indoor hardcourt player, and we expect him to keep this match tight.
That being said, Hurkacz covering the games handicap is a value bet.
