ATP Dallas Day 4 Predictions Including Taylor Fritz vs Denis Shapovalov

An exciting day of tennis awaits on day 4 of the ATP Dallas Open. Top seed Taylor Fritz will be in action as he eyes another quarterfinal appearance at this event. As always, we at LWOT will offer predictions for every match on the slate for Day 4. But which players will advance to the quarterfinals?

ATP Dallas Day 4 Predictions

Reilly Opelka vs Cameron Norrie

Head-to-Head: Opelka 1-2 Norrie

Reilly Opelka hit 18 aces in a dominant first-round performance against Alexander Shevchenko. The American was untouchable behind his serve and got the break when the opportunity presented. Cameron Norrie made a great comeback after losing the first set against Alex Michelsen and was playing some of his best tennis by the end of the match. Norrie has had the upper hand in this rivalry, but he hasn’t been as consistent in the last year. I am giving a slight edge to Opelka.

Prediction: Opelka in 3

Frances Tiafoe vs Yoshihito Nishioka

Head-to-Head: Tiafoe 3-1 Nishioka

Frances Tiafoe faced a tough test against Taro Daniel in the first round but did well to get the crucial break in the third set to win the match. Tiafoe must play a better match against Yoshihito Nishioka, who picked up a big win against Brandon Nakashima and won the previous encounter between these two last year. Tiafoe plays his best tennis on home soil, and I expect him to raise his level for this match.

Prediction: Tiafoe in 3

Casper Ruud vs Michael Mmoh

Head-to-Head: first meeting

It was not the most convincing performance from Casper Ruud in the first round, but he should be happy to get his first win at the Dallas Open. Michael Mmoh did well to win his first tour-level match since April last year. However, he got broken five times in the match and was shaky behind his first serve. Ruud should win this if he can improve on his first-round level.

Prediction: Ruud in 3

Taylor Fritz vs Denis Shapovalov

Head-to-Head: Fritz 4-5 Shapovalov

Taylor Fritz put up a dominant first-round performance against Arthur Rinderknech and will be looking to even the head-to-head against Denis Shapovalov. Fritz lost just seven points behind his serve in the match and kept putting constant pressure on Rinderknech’s serve. Denis Shapovalov defeated Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round to get consecutive wins for the first time this season. Shapovalov has the game to trouble Fritz, as he has in the past, but Fritz’s level has improved a lot in the last two years, and he is much more consistent than the Canadian.

Prediction: Fritz in 2
