ATP Cordoba Quarterfinal Predictions

Jaume Munar vs Facundo Bagnis

Head-to-head: 1-0 Munar

Bagnis has enjoyed a good start to the year, with the veteran scoring ten match wins on the year already, including a Challenger title. Munar is playing his first event on clay after a tough start to the year on hard courts. He has picked up smoothly on clay, scoring a straight-set upset in the second round over the tournament’s #1 seed Francisco Cerundolo. Bagnis has looked equally impressive, fighting through qualifying and winning all eight sets he has played. Bagnis seems to be in a groove, and the veteran has the ability to control the match and use his strong baseline game and ball placement to force Munar into errors and get the upper hand in the match.

Prediction: Bagnis in 3

Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Federico Coria

Head-to-head: 1-0 Coria

This matchup sees two players at different phases of their careers facing off. Etcheverry broke out last year and reached the top 30, highlighted by his success on the clay, while Coria seems to be fading in his career at age 31. Coria has had a good start to the year by focusing on clay and is coming off a final in Piracicaba. Etcheverry had a strong Australian Open though he has had a tough overall start to the year. Moving to clay will suit him well, with his fitness looking strong. Coria has not beaten a player of Etcheverry’s caliber in some time, and Etcheverry will outhit him from start to finish at ATP Cordoba.

Prediction: Etcheverry in 2
