ATP Lyon Semifinal Predictions Including Francisco Cerundolo vs Cameron Norrie

Cameron Norrie Citi Open

The ATP Lyon Open 2023 is heating up for a great finish as top seeds battle it out with dark horses for the trophy. Just four men remain and it’s anyone’s guess who wins it all. As ever, we at LWOT preview and predict both semifinal clashes for you.

ATP Lyon Semifinal Predictions

Arthur Fils vs Brandon Nakashima

Head to head – First Meeting

Arthur Fils will be feeling extremely lucky after getting back to back walkovers against higher ranked opponents. The Frenchman will be looking to make the most out of it by playing at his very highest level against the American Brandon Nakashima. The American has looked the most in form player this week here in Lyon, France and the eighth seed should start favorite here.

These two players have never met before and it’s a case of the Frenchman trying to pull off the upset here. Expect Nakashima to continue his rich vein of form which was evident in his win over Tommy Paul. The Frenchman’s luck should be running out here.
Prediction: Nakashima in 2

Francisco Cerundolo vs Cameron Norrie

Head to head – Cerundolo 1-1 Norrie

This match in many ways feels like a final as both players have played superbly this week and it’s a shame they’re meeting in the semifinals. Both players had to endure three setters in the quarter-finals and in all likelihood they will have to endure another one. Francisco Cerundolo overcame a slow start but he finished strong so he should be feeling good about his chances.

Cameron Norrie had to battle hard but the second seed seems to have a slight upper hand entering this match. Both these players have split their previous two meetings and interestingly both have come on clay courts. The Argentine did win the recent meeting in Monte Carlo this year but expect Norrie to be at his defensive best and counter-attack when the opportunity presents itself.
Prediction: Norrie in 3
