WTA Parma Day 2 Predictions Including Martina Trevisan vs Sara Sorribes Tormo

Martina Trevisan looks to continue her stellar year on clay in here home country as the 2022 season draws to a close. She is the top seed in action on Tuesday. As such, she deservedly headlines this set of WTA Parma day 2 predictions. However, as there are 11 matches we do have two other sets of predictions so be sure to look those over once you’ve read through our choices here. Now, let’s get stuck into the four matches we’re covering in this piece.

WTA Parma Day 2 Predictions

Erika Andreeva vs Dalma Galfi

Head-to-head: First meeting

Neither Dalma Galfi nor Erika Andreeva brings much form into WTA Parma. This tournament is a real opportunity for both to pick up some valuable points in what is a wide open draw outside the top two or three seeds. Galfi is the higher ranked of these two and more comfortable on clay than the Russian is so I’m giving her the edge in this one.

Prediction: Galfi in 3

Oceane Dodid vs Danka Kovinic

Head-to-head: 1 – 0 Kovinic

Oceane Dodin made the semifinals of the Challenger event in Bucharest before retiring hurt against Viktorya Tomova. How her body is holding up is an obvious concern coming into this match as result. Danka Kovinic is a solid player who will be a tough test for the Frenchwoman here. However, if Dodin is healthy and firing on all cylinders she is a quality player and should have to much power off the ground for Kovinic to keep up. If Dodin is healthy, she wins.

Prediction: Dodin in 2

Jasmine Paolini vs Jule Niemeier

Head-to-head: First meeting

Jule Neimeier is in the midst of a career year thanks to several strong showings at Grand Slams. The German cruised through qualifying in straight sets to  book her place in the main draw here. However, she now faces a tough first round test in Jasmine Paolini. The Italian hasn’t been at her best in 2022 but is steal a real threat on clay. Her record on red dirt has been poor this year so she’s due a good run. Niemeier will be a tough test and this match likely goes the distance, but I can see Paolini edging it in the end.

Prediction: Paolini in 3

Martina Trevisan vs Sara Sorribes Tormo

Head-to-head: 1 – 0 Sorribes Tormo

It is a reflection of Sara Sorribes Tormo’s struggles on the tour this year that the Spaniard isn’t seeded in this event. Fortunately for her though, most of her struggles this year have come on hard courts. She is 10-5 on clay and will be hoping to pick up some more wins on the red dirt in the coming weeks. However, she might struggle to win here against Trevisan who has been arguably the best clay courter not named Iga Swiatek in 2022. The Italian is 15-6 on the surface this year after winning a title in Rabat and then following it up with a semifinal run at the French Open. The Italian’s form has dipped since then, but I still see her as the favourite here given her prowess on clay. Expect a long match, but one that Trevisan wins in the end.

Prediction: Trevisan in 3
