ATP Queen’s Club Final Prediction

Matteo Berrettini vs Filip Krajinovic

Head-to-head: Berrettini 2-0 Krajinovic

It’s safe to say that Filip Krajinovic has surprised us all with his performance this week. The Serb, not exactly known for his grass-court prowess, has taken out high-quality opponents this week and by beating Marin Cilic, a former champion at Queen’s and a runner-up at Wimbledon, in the semifinals, he’s laid out a strong case to win the championship. He has posted strong numbers on his serve throughout this week and it should be the key stat for him once again in the final.

That being said, he now takes on the in-form player on grass in 2022 in Matteo Berrettini. The Italian has yet to lose a grass court match this year, which is incredible considering the Italian was injured for the middle part of the year. No matter what happens in the final on Sunday, Berrettini, who made the final in SW19 last season, must be accounted one of the serious contenders for the Wimbledon 2022.

Coming to this matchup, on paper it doesn’t look good for the Serbian as he’s lost on both previous occasions. The Italian has been playing consistent tennis from the baseline and perhaps what’s heartening to see is his much improved backhand. Expect Krajinovic to direct a lot of traffic to Berrettini’s backhand. But the Italian is playing well enough that he should be able to manage his weaker wing and eventually dominate with his serve and booming forehand.

Prediction: Berrettini in 2
