ATP Queen’s Club Day 2 Predictions

Francisco Cerundolo vs Pedro Martinez

Head to head – First Meeting

It’ll be interesting to see how the young Argentine bounces back after a disappointing clay court season. Francisco Cerundolo is a precocious talent and the quicker he adapts to all court tennis, the better it is for tennis. Pedro Martinez is another clay-court specialist who finds it tough on the quicker grass courts. Expect a back-and-forth battle between the two with the young Argentine just clinching this.
Prediction: Cerundolo in 3

Jenson Brooksby vs Filip Krajinovic

Head to head – First Meeting

Both players have had a middling season so far with Jenson Brooksby failing to capitalize on a strong start to the season. Perhaps the quick grass courts will suit the American better and it’ll be interesting to follow Brooksby now. Filip Krajinovic is still a strong baseliner on tour but the Serb does lack the variety required to excel on grass courts. These two will play each other for the first time and it should make for decent viewing with the American using his variety to bamboozle the Serb here.
Prediction: Brooksby in 2

Tommy Paul vs Denis Shapovalov

Head to head – Paul 1-0 Shapovalov

Denis Shapovalov will look to rebound quickly after a disappointing first round exit in Stuttgart. The 2021 Wimbledon semifinalist will need to regroup if he’s to make something out of the 2022 season. Tommy Paul has beaten the Canadian in the lone previous meeting but that was on hard courts with the grass courts being a different challenge altogether. Expect Paul to come out of the blocks firing but the Canadian’s serve should start firing eventually and wrestle control of the match.
Prediction: Shapovalov in 3
