Week 10 of fantasy football has arrived, with managers required to make difficult lineup decisions. Sometimes, players who are viewed as fringe starters can produce unexpectedly big performances. These can often make or break fantasy football matchups. Below is a list of players, one from each position, who carry upside this week and can be placed in fantasy starting lineups.
Week 10 Fantasy Football – Upside Plays of the Week
Quarterback – Tua Tagovailoa
Tua Tagovailoa has looked decent since his return from injury and was efficient last week in a tough loss to the Bills. Tua and the Dolphins will face the Rams on Monday Night Football in Week 10. The Rams defense represents a favourable matchup for quarterbacks, who are allowing the most yards per attempt this season as well as nearly two passing touchdowns per game. The Dolphins, with a record of 2-6, will be desperate to snap their three-game losing streak this week. With wide receivers Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, along with pass-catching back Devon Achane at Tua’s disposal, expect a strong performance from the quarterback in a must-win spot.
Running-Back – Najee Harris
Najee Harris has been impressive in recent weeks, tallying over 100 rushing yards in each of the last three games. Harris will look to keep the momentum going against the Commanders in Week 10. The Commanders defense has made improvements since the start of the season, but are still vulnerable to the running-back position. The Commanders are allowing the highest yards per carry (5.23) as well as the fifth-most rushing yards to RBs this season. Expect Harris to continue seeing a sizeable workload this week. Fantasy managers can view Harris as a solid volume-based RB2 with touchdown upside.
Wide Receiver – Darnell Mooney
Darnell Mooney is having the best year of his career this season, asserting himself as a relevant fantasy asset. The Falcons wide receiver is on pace for over 1,000 receiving yards and has surpassed 80 yards in each of the last two games. Mooney will look to continue rolling against a weak Saints defence in Week 10. The Saints secondary is allowing the fifth-most receiving yards per game to wide receivers this season. Fellow wideout Drake London is also dealing with a hip injury this week, which could further boost Mooney’s usage. Expect Mooney to exceed his weekly projection this week with quarterback Kirk Cousins continuing to fire on all cylinders.

Tight End – Theo Johnson
Theo Johnson has entered the tight end streaming conversation in Week 10. The Canadian from Windsor has quietly had at least three receptions and 30 receiving yards in 4/5 games and scored his first career NFL touchdown last week. While his chances of scoring again might be slim, he gets the best matchup possible against the Panthers this week. The Panthers rank dead-last against tight-ends this season, allowing over 11 fantasy points per game (FPPG). They also rank bottom-five against quarterbacks and running-backs, giving both Daniel Jones and Tyrone Tracy Jr. a boost this week. The Giants will hope they can put together a solid offensive performance in Germany, as Johnson has another good opportunity to be involved. Managers looking for a bye week tight-end replacement could look Johnson’s way for some sneaky production.
