This Panthers vs Saints matchup features two clubs in the cellar of the league standings. Carolina (1-7) has been a disaster. Recent #1 overall draft pick Bryce Young has looked completely incompetent on an NFL field, leading to speculation that the franchise is already seeking to move on from its high investment. The club feels lost in every sense of the word.
Meanwhile, New Orleans (2-6) got off to a solid start but has stumbled since the loss of quarterback Derek Carr due to an oblique injury. Thankfully for the Saints, their veteran signal-caller appears set to return to the field for this division matchup.

Panthers vs Saints Prediction
CAR Panthers 10, NO Saints 24
Carr’s return makes a tremendous difference for the Saints. While rookie backup Spencer Rattler performed as well as could be expected during his first taste of NFL action, the offense was not nearly as dangerous under his leadership. Rattler threw two interceptions and only one touchdown in his 99 passing attempts this season. By comparison, Carr led the Saints to eight passing scores and threw four interceptions in his 128 attempts before getting injured.
The veteran’s return will breath new life into playmakers Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara,
Panthers vs Saints Best Bets
Chris Olave Over 64.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
Olave is an established star who suffered mightily after Carr’s injury. Rattler was not able to command the offense with the same efficency, leading to subpar performances for most of New Orleans’ top playmakers.
With Carr back under center, Olave is primed for a big game against a Carolina defense that ranks 31st in the league in average yards allowed per game.
Alvin Kamara Over 75 Rushing Yards (+145)
The Panthers defense is also tied for the worst in football at stopping the run. While the offense has been clogged without Carr, rushing lanes should open back up with New Orleans’ full repertoire of weapons back on the field.
Not only does this matchup pit a top-five running back against the worst rush defense in football. But the game script should also work in Kamara’s favor. Carolina’s bottom-six passing offense has been even worse with sophomore quarterback Bryce Young under center. Expect the Saints to get out to an early lead and maintain it throughout the game.
This will force the Panthers to throw often in an effort to keep pace, and allow New Orleans to use their rushing attack to slow the game down and kill the clock. Kamara is poised for a massive game this week!
Chuba Hubbard Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+110)
Despite their offensive ineptitude, Hubbard remains Carolina’s top offensive weapon. New Orleans also has a bottom-five rushing defense and the worst defense in the league at limiting total yardage. ‘
Hubbard will need to find the end zone quickly if he intends to do so as a rusher. However, if the aforementioned game script does flip, the former Oklahoma State star has carved out a modest role as a pass catcher. In this offense, he has a chance to hit pay-dirt as a receiver once the game gets in to garbage time.
