As a new week begins, it’s the perfect time to capitalize on favorable situations and make a smart trade. Here is the Buy Sell Report for Week 9 of the Fantasy Football Season.
Fantasy Football Buy Sell for Week 9
Buy D.J. Moore
Moore struggled once again, totaling only 5.8 fantasy points after scoring 6.0 in the previous week. However, Caleb Williams had a bad week, going 10/24 passing for 131 yards. He will have much better days ahead. Additionally, they have some great matchups coming up, including the Vikings and Lions twice, both of which are in the top three for most fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. With a favorable schedule coming up, now is an ideal time to buy low on Moore.
Sell Josh Downs
Downs had a big game in Week 8, having four catches for 109 yards and one touchdown, totaling 22.2 fantasy points. He just missed out on a second touchdown. However, he only had four catches on nine targets. Quarterback Anthony Richardson struggled with accuracy once again. Teammate Michael Pittman Jr. had one catch for 16 yards on six targets. There will not be much production for Downs and the other Colts wide receivers until Richardson can fix his accuracy problems. Sell Downs after his big game to capitalize on his peak value.
Sell Joe Mixon
Mixon has been incredible this season, scoring at least 23 fantasy points in all four of his full games played. However, has feasted on easy matchups, including the Colts twice. Mixon has a much tougher stretch coming up, consisting of the Jets and the Lions in the next two weeks. Additionally, Mixon has a tough playoff stretch playing the Chiefs and the Ravens in Weeks 16 and 17, traditionally the fantasy semifinals and finals. The Chiefs are the best run defense in the league, and the Ravens are in the top ten. It is time to get rid of Mixon before this tough stretch.
Sell J.K. Dobbins
Dobbins had a strong showing in Week 8, posting 16.8 fantasy points with 57 rushing yards, a touchdown, and four receptions for 11 yards. Despite this bounce-back performance, Dobbins faces a challenging schedule ahead, with no matchups against bottom-ten fantasy rush defenses until Week 15. This tough stretch limits his upside, making it a prime time to sell high on him following his solid Week 8 game.
Sell Elite Tight Ends
Week 8 was National Tight Ends Day, and they went off for 16 total touchdowns and 177 receptions. The 177 receptions are the most ever on one day for the tight end position. Travis Kelce, Kyle Pitts, Trey McBride, Sam LaPorta, Dalton Kincaid, and George Kittle all had their season highs. In addition, Mark Andrews had a great day too. Those were the first seven tight ends drafted this season in fantasy drafts, and they all went off on National Tight Ends Day. This surge in production from the year’s top-drafted tight ends provides a prime opportunity to explore trading one of these players for a more consistent wide receiver or running back when their value is at their highest. It’s worth considering if you’re looking to bolster depth or consistency at other positions.
