Wide Receiver rankings, tiers, and analysis for Week 8 of the Fantasy Football season to make informed decisions to set your lineup.
week 8 wide receiver rankings

The NFL season is in full swing, and it’s time to set your lineups for Week 8 of the fantasy football season. Fortunately, no teams have a bye in Week 8, but there are a ton of injuries to monitor. Cooper Kupp is ready to make his return, while Deebo Samuel, Mike Evans, DK Metcalf, Puka Nacua, Jakobi Meyers, Chris Olave, and Jauan Jennings are questionable with injuries. Brandon Aiyuk and Chris Godwin suffered season-ending injuries, while Nico Collins is still on the IR. Below are the wide receiver rankings, tiers, and analysis for Week 8.

Wide Receivers Rankings for Week 8 Fantasy Football

Tier 1: Alpha Wide Receivers

1. Justin Jefferson
2. Ja’Marr Chase
3. Malik Nabers
4. A.J. Brown
5. CeeDee Lamb
6. Amon-Ra St. Brown
7. Tyreek Hill*

St. Brown continued his fantastic stretch of performances, finishing Week 7 as the overall WR1 with 25.2 fantasy points. He caught all eight of his targets for 112 yards and a touchdown, marking his fourth straight game with a touchdown. St. Brown has been remarkably consistent, finishing as a top-eleven wide receiver in four of the last five weeks. After a slow start to the season, he’s become a reliable WR1 option in fantasy lineups.

*Hill and the entire Dolphins offense has been horrible since quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left the Week 2 game with another concussion. Hill has only finished as a top-50 weekly receiver one time in the last five games. One time! Week 7 was his worst performance, with only one catch for eight yards on two targets. Tagovailoa is expected to return in Week 8, which gives everyone in the Dolphins offense a huge boost. Hill moves back into the alpha wide receiver tier. If Tagovailoa is not able to play, Hill falls back to Tier Four of the wide receiver rankings for Week 8.

Tier 2: Low-End WR1s to High-End WR2s

8. Drake London
9. Cooper Kupp**
10. Stefon Diggs
11. D.J. Moore
12. Brian Thomas Jr
13. Deebo Samuel**
14. Jayden Reed
15. Mike Evans**
16. DK Metcalf**

London is quietly the overall WR3 on the season. After a rough start in Week 1 with just 3.5 fantasy points, he has bounced back with consistent production, scoring at least 12 points in every game since. London has also posted three consecutive top-15 finishes, including two top-eight performances. He gets a great matchup against the Buccaneers, who have been getting torched by opposing offenses. London is a strong top-ten play in Week 8 and should continue his hot streak as he moves into the top-ten of the wide receiver rankings.

Reed struggled in Week 7, only scoring three fantasy points on two catches for 10 yards. Better days are ahead for the overall WR7 on the season. Reed plays the Jaguars, who have given up the fourth most fantasy points to wide receivers on the year. Reed should have a nice bounce-back game in Week 8.

**There are a ton of injuries in this tier. Kupp is expected to return for Thursday Night Football. Samuel was hospitalized with an illness, Evans hurt his hamstring, while Metcalf has an MCL sprain. All three are unlikely to play in Week 8.

Tier 3: Solid WR2s

17. Puka Nacua**
18. Tee Higgins
19. DeVonta Smith
20. Zay Flowers
21. Terry McLaurin
22. Garrett Wilson
23. Davante Adams
24. Diontae Johnson
25. Jaylen Waddle*

Adams had a disappointing debut for the Jets, catching only three of his nine targets for 30 yards. The good news is that he tied for the team lead in targets with Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, showing that Rodgers is trying to get Adams involved. While they couldn’t resurrect their old Green Bay connection in Week 7, the volume of targets Adams received is encouraging. He should continue to be a focal point of the Jets offense and can be relied upon as a solid WR2 for the rest of the season.

Johnson had a disappointing game against a weak Commanders secondary, finishing with 2.7 fantasy points. He has now had bad games in two of the last three weeks. The Panthers offense has been able to do nothing in the last couple of weeks, even with Andy Dalton as quarterback. He has a tough matchup against the Broncos in Week 8, making it hard to trust Johnson this week, but he is still better than the options in the next tier.

*If Tagovailoa does not play, Waddle would drop out of the top 40 in the wide receiver rankings.

Tier 4: WR3s or FLEX plays

26. Marvin Harrison Jr.
27. Amari Cooper
28. Xavier Worthy
29. Josh Downs
30. Jakobi Meyers**
31. George Pickens
32. Romeo Doubs
33. Christian Watson
34. Tank Dell
35. Ladd McConkey
36. Chris Olave**
37. Demario Douglas
38. Keenan Allen
39. Jordan Addison
40. Rome Odunze
41. Jauan Jennings**

Cooper had a strong start with the Bills, catching four of his five targets for 66 yards and a touchdown, finishing with 16.6 fantasy points—good for WR14 in Week 7. This was his second-best fantasy performance of the year, giving fantasy managers the production they had hoped for following his trade to Buffalo. With a favorable matchup against the Seahawks next week, Cooper is poised to continue performing well and remains a solid starting option in fantasy lineups.

A new quarterback for the Steelers led to Pickens’ best performance of the season. With Russell Wilson under center, Pickens made several impressive catches and finished as the WR4 for the week. Wilson was throwing deep balls to Pickens, which plays to his strengths. After a stretch where Pickens was becoming an unstartable fantasy receiver, he now moves back into the WR3 conversation with Wilson at quarterback.

**Meyers and Olave are still questionable after missing last week. Jennings is questionable with a hip injury. If he can play and Samuel does not play, Jennings will move up to the top of this tier as the WR1 for the 49ers.
