The Cincinnati Bengals are searching for their first win of the season after a controversial loss to the Kansas City Chiefs dropped their record to 0-2. The franchise faces a sense of urgency as they seek to contend for a postseason spot in a loaded AFC North. The history of teams starting 0-2 and making the playoffs is a shaky path, but Bengals faithful have plenty of room for optimism with Joe Burrow at the helm.

Bengals vs Commanders Prediction
Bengals 23, Commanders 17
The 0-2 Cincinnati Bengals are heavy favorites to secure their first victory of the season. After a flat performance in an opening-week loss to the underdog Patriots, Cincinnati went punch-for-punch with the juggernaut Chiefs in Week 2. Superstars Joe Burrow (injury recovery) and Ja’Marr Chase (contract negotiations) have both had two weeks to round into form, making them a dangerous foe. Tee Higgins is set to make his season debut after dealing with a nagging hamstring injury.
Meanwhile the Commanders are seeking to find their footing under rookie QB Jayden Daniels. The former LSU star has been little more than a game-manager as a passer. However, his 132 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns have put his electric, dual-threat abilities on full display. This was all over his college film, and expect him to break off a couple of highlight worthy runs this afternoon.
Bengals vs Commanders Best Bets
Commanders -8 (-110)
While the Bengals should be the betting favorite to win outright, the -8 line is enticing. Cincinnati will not be without co-star receiver Tee Higgins, who missed last week’s game with a hamstring injury. Interior defensive lineman Sheldon Rankins, B.J. Hill, and Kris Jenkins Jr are all also questionable due to injuries.
On the other hand, Washington seems to be near full strength. Daniels’ legs should thrive is the Bengals are without multiple defensive lineman. Staring running back Brian Robinson Jr should also be in for a big day. If the Commanders can keep the game reasonably close and pound the run game, they should keep the deficit under eight. A battered defense against a strong run games feels like a recipe for a closer game than the betting line would suggest. The Commanders with eight points to spare is the best bet this week.
Brian Robinson Over 50.5 Rushing Yards (-120)
Cincinnati boasts a top pass defense so far this season. Washington’s limitations in the passing game will force them into a run-heavy scheme. If they can keep the game script away from being blown out, Robinson should be in store for a big day.
The former Alabama RB is coming off 133 rushing yards in a Week 2 victory against the Giants. He is well positioned to rush for between 50-75 yards again this week. The rushing lanes have been wider with defenders accounting for Daniels possible read option pulls.
